Perhaps best known as Chris Daughtry's devoted friend on the fifth season of the AMERICAN IDOL reality-TV series, singer Ace Young finally struck out on his own with this confident 2008 self-titled album. Although Young finished IDOL in only seventh place, he clearly had the talent to be a top-ranking finalist, as revealed on lively R&B/soul-tinged tunes such as "Addicted" and "Where Will You Go," which show the influence of Maroon 5 and Michael Jackson, among others. Actually the T shirt may not be true, but he’s already published “Fiddling around the World” on Spartan Press, and “The Fiddle Handbook” comes out on Hal Leonard on 2009.
