Art Of Barry Tuckwell
$9.35 In this film that epitomizes the American love for baseball, Ray Kinsella, a struggling Iowa farmer (Kevin Costner), obeys a mysterious voice in his cornfield that tells him to replace part of his crop with a baseball diamond, resulting in the magical meeting of baseball heroes from the past, including Shoeless Joe Jackson, and the seven other Chicago White Sox players who were suspended for purposefully losing the 1919 World Series. Even after building the diamond, Ray continues to hear voices, and seeks the help of a hermit-like author in sorting out the mystery, which allows the confrontation of ghosts of other sorts.
This DVD takes us back to the sexy 60s and swinging 70s. It is an energetic mix of parody, farce, slapstick and double entendres, and rife with loads of delectable British babes. The first four short subjects presented here are special 'highlights' versions of classic 1970s feature films originally edited and produced for Super 8mm movie collectors. The last two subjects on the DVD are 1960s glamour film rarities. Includes: THREE'S COMPANY - Harrison Marks was Britain's top glamour photographer. Busty Val Jones is presented here in fine form in this Marks classic. All Val wants is a quiet night in bed but she gets interrupted by various suitors. She lets two studly men have their way with her but draws the line when a not-so-sexy senior citizen decides to enter her boudoir. ACADEMY ADVENTURESS - Hot little number Robin Starch does a great striptease in this 1960s classic. Starting out looking like a prim and proper librarian complete with nerdy looking glasses, it isn'

There seems to be no end to the market for Latin tenors who inhabit the peculiar world most often termed "crossover." The well-known "Three Tenors" travel the boundaries between classical music, songs from their homelands and European pop songs frequently and with ease. The success of these artists is also being enjoyed by Bocelli, who was launched as a superstar in the United States in late 1997 by pledge-time showings of his television special on PBS. His then-current album ROMANZA shot up the charts, followed in short order by VIAGGIO ITALIANO (a mix of opera and traditional Italian songs in the manner of Mario Lanza or Enrico Caruso) and ARIA-THE OPERA ALBUM.
Now with SOGNO (Italian for "dream," pronounced "soh-nyo") Bocelli returns to the all-pop sound of ROMANZA. The program is entirely in Italian, with translations provided, and fans of the tenor need not fear disappointment. Duets with Celine Dion, Dulce Pontes, and Eros Ramazzotti are highlights, and Bocelli is in top form throughout. For those who've not yet made this singer's acquaintance, SOGNO makes an excellent introduction. Be warned, however, that it may induce cravings for his previous albums!
