| | Sevenglory Over The Rooftops CD Sevenglory Discography of CDs
On Sevenglory's debut, OVER THE ROOFTOOPS, the young Christian rock band offers up catchy anthems that are sure to appeal to religious audiences, and may even make fans out of the secular crowd as well. Entrenched in territory somewhere between Maroon 5 and Creed, the Indiana-based quartet specializes in mid-tempo, guitar-driven tunes. Frontman Fred Butson, with his soaring vocals, yearns to understand the ways of God, but also conveys more general messages of love and discovery, while lush, string-laden arrangements (as on the emotive "Waiting for You" and the majestic "Love You Forever") are expertly helmed by auxiliary keyboardist Rich Barrett. The group never forgets its rock roots, however, a point reinforced by the metal-tinged "Really Free" and the fierce, propulsive "Track 7." Aiming for stadium grandeur, Sevenglory reveals a remarkable amount of ambition on its first outing, holding the potential for even greater things on subsequent releases.

| | David Phelps CD (2001)
Over The Rooftops CD music
$10.89 As part of the Gaither Vocal Band, David Phelps is used to exercising his vocal chops. With his debut solo release, Phelps offers a disc that's rich in musical texture while singing up a virtual storm. The disc's opening grabber, "I Cry, You Care," is a testament to the steadfast love Christ bestows upon his people. Phelps sings in the upper registers on the cut as a moving bassline and drumbeat culminate to a fast fury. Much like Dallas Holms' "Rise Again" or Larry Normans' "I Wish We'd All Been Ready," the song "The End of the Beginning" has the mark of a career signature for Phelps. The tune is one that musters up feelings of inspired awe. In storybook fashion, the lyrics weave a tale of a chance meeting with a stranger on a plane. When Phelps reaches the tune's chorus his vocals are so charged that they are awe-inspiring. A nice detour from the adult contemporary fare is the all-out rocker "Let the Glory Come Down." Mixed amongst a flurry of guitar, horn, and organ chops, Phelps takes the reins like he's singing for Petra in their heyday. The background vocals on the tune are definitely the dot on the exclamation point. Finishing out the release is the poignant offering "Fly Again." Like many slower cuts on this disc, Phelps excels in the subtle nuances of the piano and acoustic guitar. These instruments give vocalists spaces ...

Over The Rooftops album
$8.39 MUSICAL CHILD WINS 'CHILDRENS MUSIC WEB AWARD' FOR BEST NEW ARTIST 2004. I'm both a stay-at-home Dad to Eric, my son, who you see on the CD cover, and a music teacher to pre-school and kindergarten children in central Massachusetts. A few years ago, I decided to write and record 20 original children's songs and make a CD called "Musical Child". Many of the ideas for my songs have come from conversations I have had with the many children I entertain. Just yesterday [9/3/03] a little boy told me his backpack felt like it had a telephone pole in it. The "back pack song" will be on my second CD due out next summer. I love writing and re-writing my songs until I think I have them just right and then recording them at home on my 4-track over and over again until they are just what I what. Then I'm ready to hit the recording studio. "Musical Child" was recorded at a friend's house using his 16 track digital studio. We worked one night a week for eight months to get the sound just right. I invited some of my very talented musical friends to play percussion, pedal steel, harmonica and cello. After mixing the tracks together locally, the recording was loaded on a disc and sent to Disc Makers in New Jersey for professional re-mastering, duplication and packaging. My CD has become quite popular in central Massachusetts. Now when I play out locally, ...
