Pittsburgh punks Anti-Flag take on subjects like the Iraq war, the World Trade Organization, and uranium-tipped bullets in a set that's as full of energized rock & roll as it is of committed political diatribes. "Hymn for the Dead" packs a caustic lyrical punch, while "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" crams a wealth of political theory into a slamming slab of punk rock.

And when you decide to buy the CD(and you will) read the booklet. It has alot of very interesting info and great insight. Being much of a passafist as I would say I am, I still joined the US Armed Forces(I have my reasons). However I chose to take a role that was to support real troops cause these are our people and we need to protect them. When I joined I believed that listening to bands like Anti-flag and RAGE would get me labled a traitor, so I left my collection of their music behind. However, after getting over my fear of ostrification and learning more about my position I've learned that I still have a voice and when I heard songs like "This is the end" and "I'll tell you but..." from this album it was like being reunited with an old friend.
In review, Anti-flag has not lost their edge or given up their message to corperate strangle holds that record companies tend to force on artists. Anti-flag's message is louder than ever(just read the booklet and you'll see).
4 of 5 for music, the extra 1 is for an outstanding message and unbreakable integrity. Submitted by Alex (Iraq) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Getting Past Things So the vocals may not be the best but that's not really what music is about. As long as you don't sound awful, people can get past that. I love their music, and lyrics. they're one of those bands that actually have a message. i hate those bands that are just based on the music. that stuff may apply to music people who just want something that has a beat they can dance too, so fine. but if you're one of those lyric people like me, where the first thing you do is tear out the words and listen to the cd reading at the same time, this is what you'd like. a comment i know i'm not supposed to be writing this in a review that's supposed to help people buy the cd, but xCoryx's comments are just ridiculously stupid. Who the hell wouldn't sign with RCA? Are they supposed to be a poor underground band playing in garages? And of course they have a parental advisory sticker on the cd... if not you get a fine. Learn about the system if you wanna undermine it dumbas_ Submitted by meanmachine57 (Bradenton, Fl, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Anti-flag are a bunch of sell-out wannabe punks Anti flag used to be cool... until i found real punk music. Anti-flag are a bunch of hypocritical losers that preach "The Media is lying" when they are on RCA records, a huge record label. Not only are they sell outs but they suck anyway have you heard justin sane's whiney nasaly voice. All of there songs are the same! The government is lying the media is lying war is bad ect... They are just really lame poppy emopunk that used to and forever will suck. Listen to real hardcore and underground music instead of this corperate punk bullspit. Amazing This CD is amazing. My favourite tracks are The Press Corpse, I'd Tell You But..., and 1 Trillion Dollars. I don't think they are sellouts, I think they want their music to be heard by the public, so that their great political idea's can be heard. For Blood And Empire album
$10.65 The Washington, D.C. straightedge hardcore punk scene began with Minor Threat. The band recorded two LPs on its own Dischord label, plus an EP and the miscellaneous singles that are collected on this CD. Many of the early recordings on this collection seethe with teen-age angst and indignation. The songs rage against bullies, religious hypocrisy, and the herd mentality.

$18.59 With a generally deadpan singer and another guy behind a bank of synthesizers, the Pet Shop Boys just aren't built for live albums, even if the songs are exquisite, there's an orchestra behind them, and some very special guests appear. While the duo can deliver in a live setting, the experience relies heavily on the visual, check the Performance or Somewhere concert videos for proof. Still, ...
