BLOOD MONEY marks the seventh release by Havoc and Prodigy, a.k.a. Mobb Deep. Hailing from New York City's notorious Queens Bridge Projects, the Mobb signed to G-Unit Records for their 2006 release, a returned favor of sorts from mega-star and label honcho 50 Cent for the influence the duo surely had on him.
Not just a G-Unit album in label name only, BLOOD MONEY features crew members Lloyd Banks ("You Can't Get With This"), Young Buck ("Give It To Me"), Tony Yayo ("Night Rider"), and 50 Cent himself ("Pearly Gates" and "Creep") flowing over the Mobb's darkly aggressive and deeply mesmerizing signature sound. BLOOD MONEY also represents the first instance of the duo's use of outsider producers. Not to worry, though: the list includes heavy hitters like Sha Money XL, The Alchemist, and the heaviest hitter of all, Dr. Dre, all whom approach the Deep sound with respect and a deft touch. These new associations ensure that Mobb Deep will reach a broader audience without sullying the duo's teflon reputation.

Rolling Stone (p.57) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "Eleven years after their classic second LP, THE INFAMOUS, a helping hand from Curtis Jackson has brought Mobb Deep back." Entertainment Weekly (p.135) - "[G]roup members Havoc and Prodigy remain true to their dark, gritty, and often socially irresponsible roots." -- Grade: A- Vibe (p.149) - 4 discs out of 5 -- "Although there remains a sheen throughout, the body of the set showcases the Mobb in darker, more familiar territory....Brash horns and ticking drums scream G Unit music, but Hav and P ably ride the aggressive composition." Blood Money 2006 From Juvenile Hell to Amerikaz Nightmare, Mobb Deep 's trademark is their dark flow and lyrical acid spitting. Here, however, this album is too commercial and that's because of G-Unit's label. I am a fan of G-Unit and Mobb Deep, but I would turn more to Mobb Deep. At least they came up with The Crack Is Safe three years later. Submitted by Kevin (Piedmont, SC, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Mobb still got it- But.....! iT NOT A BAD cd really! Though that whole Gunit collaboration kills the whole MOBB AURA! im a real fan -got all original CDs -so im saying to the Mobb- just give us another Hell on Earth cd next time, forget clubbing, vibing and commercial nonesense- give us back the hood. TOO MUCH 50 AND G-UNIT ON IT Thats my only problem with this cd is there are way too many songs with 50 snitch and the rest of g-unit. The other thing I have too say is Tony Yayo should not be a guest on any1s song that guy is extremely HORRIBLE he ruined that song "click click".Other then that this is a great cd the best song on it is "put em in their place". it might be the worst album of 06'....
see Nas 'Hip Hop Is Dead', Jeezy's album, etc....it's some of the worst hip hop to come out this year. Let's be real. Not to mention Mobb Deep totally sold out. I've lost all respect for them, they're wack. Anyone that joins 50's camp is losing points with me. At least Cormega's still holding down Queens. $15.65 Having helped bring ghetto slang like "It's all good" and "fo'shezzy, fo'shizzle" to the mainstream (and all the way to the 'burbs in some cases), West Coaster E-40 has earned his place among hip-hop's groundbreakers. His 2006 album, MY GHETTO REPORT CARD, produced by Lil John and Rick Rock, is evidence that 40's innovative musical style continues to influence the genre both musically and linguistically.

$7.25 Copperhead is known as one of the last great Southern rock bands to emerge from the 90's. Originally signed to Mercury Records, their first single, "Long Way From Home",was an epic Copperhead song that became the title song for the movie "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man." Their song 'Busted' was featured on the soundtrack of Dr.Giggles. Mercury Records pushed 'Busted' to Metal and Hard Rock radio stations,'Whiskey' to AOR radio, and 'Long Way From Home is still played on the radio all over the world. The music video of 'Whiskey' got airtime on MTV. Copperhead toured with The Kentucky Headhunters, . 38 Special, and Molly Hatchet. They also played with new acts like Brother Cane and LSD. Crowds loved the band wherever they went and soon Copperhead was headlining their own tours. Now in 2005, Neil Carswell has released a new collection of Copperhead music which showcases his unique vocal style and to coincide with his upcoming solo release in 2006. Copperhead's CD 'Live and Lost' packs the energy and passion of Neil Carswell as both a performer and songwriter. The CD features four live tracks and eight studio tracks engineered and produced by Rodney Mills and Tom Dowd (the two hadn't worked together since Skynyrd's "Street Survivors" LP). Donnie Van Zant even showed up to witness the reunion of Dowd and Mills with his own two eyes. This classic Southern Rock CD can be found at copperhead. info and neilcarswell 'Copperhead is the truest example of new-breed southern rock purity in motion, featuring Van Zant-esqu vocalisms blended with a modern-day hard rock onslaught. - All Southern Rock e-zine.
