Desperate to make Sybil understand her illness, Dr. Wilbur begins a series of treatments and uncovers the 16 personalities that make up the fractured personalities of Sybil. Forced to face unspeakable torture at the hands of her mother (Jane Hoffman), Sybil is slowly able to heal her inner self with the support, guidance, and love of Dr. Wilbur.
