He is a complete workaholic, a musician through and through, a songwriting talent and an extraordinary singer. And though he stayed so normal and down to earth. A calm, permanently friendly and relaxed acting person, that seems to write his albums as quick and easygoing as others would smoke a cigarette. Albums, that press and fans are enthusiastic about at the same time. And albums that he even gains high respect among his musicians' colleagues. And that doesn't happen one time in the life of the singing and songwrilog norwegian- it seems to be his nature. Thoug jorn lande ;s more than busy with his main act masterplan, his time and creative power seem to be enough for participating at different kinds of projects and writing a bunch of solo albums. | Duke Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) tha new whitesnake I like this new Whitesnake better than Coverdale's newest release, but please let the 80's rest in peace and go back to Masterplan, Jorn! Submitted by mebosunot (Orlando, FL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
JORN stole desire from the devil!! And power from the lord above to get that incrediable voice of his, that or he sold his soul to Satan, lol. This is a great album with a few more classic rock sounding songs and a few "darker" moodier songs. Submitted by cutter (Missouri, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Duke songs
$13.85 It's easy to belittle power metal bands because they often marry portentous musical ambitions with hackneyed Manowar-like posturing that only a 12-year-old could possibly buy into; Germany's Edguy, however, are clever enough to flip those tables by making it evident that they don't take themselves all that seriously. Eight albums into the quintet's career, Edguy have in many ways succeeded where genre daddies Helloween first bit the dust -- injecting ample doses of fun, on-stage glam-metal gymnastics, Scorpions-like face pulling, and unselfconscious humor into what is normally an outwardly austere musical style, and 2006's Rocket Ride is no exception. Possibly validated even further by the recent emergence of Britain's the Darkness, this album's relaxed vibe begins with its silly-aliens-on-crack cover art and culminates in a clutch of amusing ditties about pulling birds ("Catch of the Century"), portly lovers ("Out of Vogue," "Trinidad"), and superheroes (err, "Superheroes"). On their way there, Edguy deliver a surprisingly catchy set of hard rockers ("Wasted Time," "Matrix") and unexaggerated ballads ("The Asylum," "Save Me,"), while rarely relying on power metal's primary and overly abused melodic thrash template (the title track, "Return to the Tribe"). Even the eight-minute opening "Sacrifice" is nowhere near as somber as it sounds, regardless of the majestic wall of synthesizers backing its metallic riffery. Along with the ...
| | Iron Maiden - Death On The Road DVDs (2003)
Duke album
$18.59 Iron Maiden's live album DEATH ON THE ROAD captured the heavy-metal legends at a stop on their 2003 tour, which promoted both that year's DANCE OF DEATH and the best-of collection EDWARD THE GREAT. Recorded at the Westfalenhalle Arena in Dortmund, Germany, this concert film presents DEATH ON THE ROAD in visual form, with Maiden tearing through newer fare from DANCE OF DEATH as well as older classics like "Can I Play with Madness" and "The Trooper" for a potent showcase of singer Bruce Dickinson's soaring vocals and the band's trademark three-guitar assault.
This 3 DVD package is the companion to the double live CD released in 2005. Filmed in Dortmund, Germany during the 2003 Dance of Death Tour, this collection fully captures the incredible stage production and electricity ...

$10.15 Long before they found their calling as a highly technical thrash metal band, New York's Prong was dealing in rather faceless hardcore, most of which didn't hold a candle to superior scene rivals like the Cro-Mags and Agnostic Front. Sure enough, their modest independent ...

Duke album
$31.55 This 1993 release from U.S. heavy metal act Culprit contains 12 tracks including "Steel To Blood."
It doesn't take a heavy metal expert to tell you about Seattle's unusually high number of heavy metal bands during the 1980s, but although names like Queensr˙che and Metal Church roll easily off the tongue, some other, also very impressive bands such as Culprit have virtually vanished from public memory. The band's lone album, 1983's Guilty as Charged, was an anomaly in the Shrapnel Records catalog for offering technical proficiency without getting bogged down in uncontrolled shredding. Rather, it forged an inventive yet disciplined brand of American heavy metal that was perhaps even more notable for containing meaningful, real-world, and surprisingly embarrassment-free lyrics. In fact, one has to wonder if the then still Dungeons & Dragons-toting Queensr˙che didn't take note of Culprit's more lucid approach further down the road, since Guilty as Charged feels in many ways like a rough draft of Operation: Mindcrime. All conjecture aside, and even more unusual as compared to their average labelmates' guitar-first philosophy, Culprit songs like "Steel to Blood," "Ambush," and "Same to You" boasted extremely memorable, singalong choruses to go with their disciplined instrumental foundations. And were it not for another one of Shrapnel ...
