| Still a Classic I saw this film on its release in 1956 and thoroughly enjoyed it.I remembered it well and brought the DVD in 2010.Guess what? things do change as we progress forward but this film still displayed all the charisma and charm of yesteryear and I can highly recommend you to will enjoy it. | A Truly wonderful Western..... This is one of the Westerns with a deep human message. Is an individual to save only himself and let the others perrish, or to save many lives at the cost of endangering his own? Mr. Widmark gives a superb performance, one of his best, and it was a nice surprise to see the then teenager Susan Kohner in one of her early roles. Highly enjoyable even if you see it more than once.....! By y.ben-david (givatayim, Israel) |
