This special edition of UNDERAGE THINKING contains a DVD, as well as two remixes by MachoPsycho, four demo versions of album tracks, and one brand-new demo, "Our Eyes." This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other. Personnel: Teddy Geiger (vocals, piano, bass guitar, percussion, programming); Pete Wallace (guitar, piano, Wurlitzer piano, Hammond b-3 organ, bass guitar, programming); Billy Mann (guitar, piano, bass guitar, percussion, programming); Christopher Rojas (guitar, piano, bass guitar, programming); Dan Warner, Paul Pimsler (guitar); Lee Levin (drums). Teddy Geiger entered the public eye with television appearances on the short-lived series "Love Monkey" and VH1's "In Search of the New Partridge Family." Such mainstream visibility and the fact that Geiger is a hunky 17-year-old don't hurt his chances for a music career, but Geiger is also a talented songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist to boot. UNDERAGE THINKING, Geiger's solo debut, is full of the punchy pop-rock that frequently makes the rounds at MTV. Well-constructed, catchy, light, and entertaining, Geiger's first release seems to have the makings of a pop success story already in place. The emotive "Thinking Underage" and the bright, poppy "Try Too Hard" are cases in point. It's easy to see why Teddy Geiger was pegged for a key role in CBS' music industry prime time drama Love Monkey -- he's a good-looking, tuneful, and earnest kid, an eminently marketable 17 year old who doesn't seem like an outright prefabricated sell-out. Too bad that the show was pulled from the air after just a few airings in early 2006, well over a month before Geiger's debut, Underage Thinking, hit stores; he didn't get any boost out of the show, nor did the show receive any momentum from the record. That might mean Underage Thinking won't receive the attention it deserves, which is too bad, since it's a good debut, a slick, sincere collection of surging pop and sweet ballads that are enhanced considerably by Geiger's puppy-dog charm. And he needs that charm, since it's the thing that keeps Underage Thinking out of the realm of adult pop, which it most assuredly is on its surfaces, which are gilded with acoustic guitars, overdubbed harmonies, near-invisible layers of synths, diluted drum loops, and other big-budget production tricks that make the album radio-ready even if it gives Geiger a tad too much maturity for his own good. Fortunately, he has enough charisma and skill to make the gloss seem heartfelt, even when it follows radio-ready formula to a T. That formula and gloss may make Underage Thinking a little too easy to swallow upon the first listen, but like the best adult pop, which this certainly is, the songs show their individual strengths upon repeated plays. After a few spins, of either the album as a whole or of individual singles like "For You I Will (Confidence)," the affectations of the polished production fade away, Geiger's whispery voice starts to seem sincerely soulful, and the music feels warm, comfortable, and, above all, memorable. This is unabashedly mainstream music, not cool in the slightest, but the great absence of well-executed, tuneful adult-oriented pop/rock in 2006 makes Underage Thinking all the more Underage Thinking Music | List Price | $17.96 (You save $1.01) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Pop CDs, Hard Rock, Rock | | Label | Columbia | | Orig Year | 2006 | | All Time Sales Rank | 110178 | | CD Universe Part number | 7043895 | | Catalog number | 701561 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Oct 10, 2006 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Producer | Billy Mann | | Personnel | Lee Levin - drums Billy Mann - guitar, piano, bass guitar, percussion, programming Dan Warner Chris Rojas - guitar, piano, bass guitar, programming Teddy Geiger - vocals, piano, bass guitar, percussion, programming Paul Pimsler - guitar Peter Wallace - guitar, piano, Wurlitzer piano, Hammond b-3 organ, bass guitar, programming

Underage Thinking
$11.64 Personnel: Warren Haynes (vocals, guitar); Danny Louis (keyboards); Matt Abts (drums, percussion). Audio Mixers: Gordie Johnson; Warren Haynes. BY A THREAD is Gov't Mule's first studio album since HIGH & MIGHTY was issued in 2006. Since that time, bassist Andy Hess has been replaced by Jorgen Carlsson, though Hess appears on two tracks at the end of the album. Carlsson's playing style is much more aggressive than Hess', and is therefore closer - in spirit anyway - to Gov't Mule's original bassist, the late Allen Woody, though he possesses an adventurous sense of time and is harmonically more colorful than ...

| | Bachman Turner Overdrive Bachman-Turner Overdrive II CD (1974) Bachman-Turner Overdrive
Underage Thinking
$4.89 Personnel: C.F. Turner (bass, vocals), Randy Bachman (lead guitar, vocals), Tim Bachman (lead guitar, vocals), Rob Bachman (drums, percussion). Additional personnel: Norman Durkee (piano on "Takin' Care Of Business"). Recorded at Kaye-Smith Studios, Seattle, Washington. Released when Mercury Records was still located in Chicago, IL, back in 1973, the second album from Bachman-Turner Overdrive was the first to break through in a big way. First the hit single "Let It Ride" went Top 25 circa March of 1974, then the anthem "Taking Care of Business" went Top 15 the summer of that year. By October they would top the charts with "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" from the follow-up LP, 1974's Not Fragile, but their seven chart songs were all made possible by this album and these two songs, "Let It Ride" and "Takin' Care of Business," in particular. "Let It Ride" features one of C.F. Turner's best vocals; keeping that gargle-with-Draino diesel sound down to a minimum, the song has two major guitar riffs, one a strum, the other from Led Zeppelin's 1970 "Immigrant Song," an inverted mutation of Randy Bachman's own "American Woman" riff which also hit in 1970. That "Takin' Care of Business," which was written solely by Randy Bachman and contains ...
