Standing in stark contrast to many contemporaneous pop-driven animated-film soundtracks, the companion album to ICE AGE 2: THE MELTDOWN features a charmingly old-fashioned score by composer John Powell (who takes over for the first movie's David Newman). Performed with verve by the Hollywood Studio Symphony, Powell's dynamic music perfectly reflects moments in the film, ranging from the lively opening track, "The Waterpark," to the tense "Attack from Below the Ice" to the serene "Into the Sunset." As a result of this, still teenagers, "The Ethics" extensively toured the midwest as opening act for "Paul Revere and the Raiders," They also made TV appearances, as well. Meeting Carmine Appice and Tim Bogart from "Vanilla Fudge," later with Jeff Beck, was truely a great experience. Sad, but ...
