These guys rock. Excellent cd in all aspects. I would've liked a few more guitar solos but hey, I'm still happy. Looking forward to their upcoming release. Really good! Maybe not as good as Recreation Day but it is still a really good album to listen to... Submitted by dan.gauthier (Quebec City, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
The best EVERGREY! This is my Favorite EVERGREY album!
I loved "Recreation Day" and was kind of let down by "The inner Circle" that I felt was overdone in all aspects.
This time the have roughened up the edges, shortened the songs and focused on melody and impact. All in a good way!
The songs are catchy, aggressive, heavy and melodic at the same time. This time around everything is well balanced and nothing seems over done.
Vocals have improved big time as has the song writing.
Just awesome! Submitted by andrew (wheaton, IL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A new era for the masters This is not your typical Evergrey album. Evergrey is known for progressive, epic and lengthy tracks.
Monday Morning is to Evergrey what the Black Album was to Metallica. It's more American sounding and the songs are shorter and more focused. Monday Morning is all about packing pure substance into a 45 minute masterpiece. The lyrics and vocal melodies will give you chills from begining to end. The music ranges from piano interludes to thrash breakdowns with a constant focus on a melodic heavy metal sound. There is no filler at all, just 12 solid tracks for the discerning metal fan.
If you enjoy this make sure you also get Kamelot's "The Black Halo".

Monday Morning Apocalypse album
$14.55 The truth is out there. Evergrey's new album does have strong X-Files leanings. In fact, it is a concept album that deals with alien abduction. Rather than addressing the subject in a cheesy sort of universal mode, though, it is the story of one man's struggle to understand what is happening to him. The lyrics, ...

Monday Morning Apocalypse CD music
$15.39 Sweden's Evergrey figure among a rare breed of progressive metal bands capable of balancing their undeniably impressive musicianship and lofty song and lyric-writing ambitions with the commitment to serving a song's best interest, not their own individual instrumental prowess. More unique yet is their heavy reliance on power ...

| | Vanden Plas Christ 0 CD (2006) Bonus Track
Monday Morning Apocalypse songs
$14.55 The bottom line for those who don't already know: Vanden Plas rocks. This German progressive metal band is disciplined, with excellent musicians who understand complexity and know how to employ it without it getting in the way of fine songwriting, emotional transference, and ultimately the kind of hair-raising excess that makes heavy metal such an enduring genre. Christ 0 is a concept album about a serial killer (the album is titled after him) and the man (Inspector X) who seeks to capture him. Should one find that concept to be clichéd, stop reading right now. These nine songs reflect a manner of composition, sublime taste, bone-crunching power, and breathtaking dynamics, along with an excellent use of texture and sonics not heard since Queensrÿche's classic Operation: Mindcrime. This is the story of a man betrayed, stripped of everything he loves, and convicted of a crime he did not commit -- and who ultimately loses his own humanity. The man who pursues him must confront the very things in himself that keep him obsessed with his prey. Musically, this is where the line between symphonic metal and the classic sounds of early (In ...

Monday Morning Apocalypse album
$15.65 Jet City pomp-metallers Queensryche left their denim-jacketed fanbase hanging for close to two decades following the release of 1988's OPERATION: MINDCRIME, a sociopolitical concept album, and the subsequent chart success of its 1990 follow-up, EMPIRE. Frontman Geoff Tate (credited here as "Leader") returns to finish the tale as if the 1990s never happened, ...

Monday Morning Apocalypse music CDs
$9.99 Digitally remastered by Phil De Lancie (1993, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
One of the many budget-priced Fantasy mid-'70s repackages to get a '90s CD issue (rather than simply releasing the original LPs with their original titles and artwork), Ray Barretto's Carnaval combines two 1962 sessions, Pachanga With Barretto (his Milestone label debut as a leader) and Latino!. Both sets feature Barretto's first band, Charanga Moderna, with trumpeter El Negro Vivar and tenor saxophonist Jose Chombo Silva added to the front line for the latter LP. The first album (confusingly the latter on the ...
