| | Pat Benatar Precious Time CD Pat Benatar Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
Pat Benatar was riding high in 1981--just coming off her biggest success yet with the previous year's CRIMES OF PASSION, she immediately issued her third album, the U.S. chart-topping PRECIOUS TIME. While not as strong as its predecessor, PRECIOUS TIME was another big hit, spawning several more radio hits.
The album proved to be one of Pat's last hard rock-oriented releases (she would explore pop and synth sounds on her future albums). It doesn't disappoint, including as it does one of her biggest hits--the power ballad "Fire and Ice," as well as the soaring "Promises in the Dark" and the epic title track.
Recorded at Sound City Studio and Goodnight L.A. Studio, Los Angeles, California.
Personnel: Pat Benatar (vocals); Neil Geraldo, Scott Sheets (guitar); Roger Capps (bass guitar); Myron Grombacher (drums).

Pat's #1 album! PRECIOUS TIME was Pat's third album released in July 1981. It shot straight to the number one spot, earned her a grammy for best rock vocalist female for "Fire And Ice", and contains many amazing songs, like "Promises In The Dark" (arguably her best recording), "Fire And Ice", "Precious Time", "Hard To Believe", "Take It Anyway You Want It", and more. Now it's back in print and remastered!!!! Pick up this cd, you won't be dissapointed. I have been a huge fan of hers for years now and would have to honestly say this album ranks up in the top 5 of her best (just behind 'Tropico' and 'Crimes of Passion'). Precious Time album
$9.15 Highlights include the frenzied rocker "Anxiety (Get Nervous)," and the pop-based "Little Too Late," but the best track is the album-opening "Shadows of the Night"--the latter featured Benatar as a World War II fighter pilot in its popular promo video! GET NERVOUS ...
| | John Mellencamp John Cougar CD (1979) Bonus Track; Remastered
Precious Time CD music
$7.09 Once "I Need a Lover" became an Australian hit, Riva in America decided to release John Cougar's eponymous fourth album, adding the song to the record as well. Essentially, John Cougar is sonically similar to A Biography, but apart from the tacked-on "I Need a Lover," none of the songs hit the mark. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Boston CD (1976) Reissue; Remastered
Precious Time music CDs
$6.25 Recorded on a simple 12-track recorder as a demo, it was so good that the record company released it. Tom Scholz masterminded the project in his spare time; little did he know that this record came to define AOR, and would become a hi-fi store standard demo disc. Since that time, this record-breaking debut has sold 15 million copies in its homeland. Sholtz put so much effort into making it, he has managed only three further records in 22 years. "More Than A Feeling" still ...
| | Pat Benatar Crimes Of Passion CD (1980) Remastered
Precious Time songs
$7.85 While her 1979 debut IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT spawned a few radio hits ("Heartbreaker," etc.), it wasn't until 1980's CRIMES OF PASSION that Pat Benatar became one of the 80's top rockers. Most female-led rock bands of the time were punk rock based (Blondie, the Runaways, the Pretenders), but Pat's ...
| | Pat Benatar In The Heat Of The Night CD (1979) Remastered
Precious Time album
$9.09 IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT is where it all started for Pat Benatar. Her 1979 debut includes several tracks that automatically caught the ear of rock radio, and perfectly set up a recording career that by the mid-'80s would make her one of the top female rockers in the U.S.
While other female-fronted rocker outfits such as Heart incorporated elements of Led Zeppelin into their sound, Benatar and her band went the opposite route and incorporated melodic pop into their hard rock. Such highlights as "Heartbreaker" and a cover of John Mellencamp's "I Need a Lover" have become arena rock standards over the years.

| | Boston Don't Look Back CD (1978) Reissue; Remastered; Digipak
Precious Time CD music
$6.75 Boston's many fans were upset that it took the band two years to follow up its monster debut. When it arrived, the sophomore effort DON'T LOOK BACK was a virtual rewrite of BOSTON. This didn't stop the masses from snapping up the album, which ultimately racked up sales in the multi-platinum range.
Boston sounds inspired on the anthemic title track. Other standout tracks include "It's Easy" and "Man I'll Never Be." The hard-rocking "Don't Be Afraid" closes the album. And two years would prove to be nothing in light of the eight-year ...
| | Saga Full Circle CD (2003) Import
Precious Time music CDs
$9.99 If nothing else Saga deserve kudos for sticking to their guns. Neither punk nor new wave nor grunge nor any of the other subgenres that have influenced popular music since Saga's inception (1977) have infiltrated this band's formula. Their brand of keyboard and guitar-heavy album and arena rock has experienced a dwindling audience in North America, but Saga still thrived in Europe, specifically Germany. Full Circle is quite generic, offering very little originality. It sounds frightfully similar to the throngs of progressive bands of ...

| | Keith Moon Two Sides Of The Moon CDs (1975) Expanded
Precious Time CD music
$21.49 The late Keith Moon was a great drummer in one of the most important U.K. bands of all time, a prankster, and a lord of excess. Since the other members of The Who were doing various solo projects, Moon thought he'd throw his top hat into the ring. In an era of concept albums and arena-rock spectacle (1975), Keith Moon blew a raspberry at all of it. TWO SIDES is a tour through Moon's favorite styles and eras of pop, rock & roll and country, with too many guest stars to mention (though mention must be made of Rick Nelson, Dick Dale and the first all-female band to be signed to a major label, Fanny).
He sings a couple a Who classic ("The Kids Are Alright"), an early Beach Boys ballad ("Don't Worry Baby"), sings a country duet with Rick Nelson and covers his "Teenage Idol," and by and large has a wildly irreverent good time. Moon's not the best singer in rock history, but the party atmosphere and the dated everything-plus-the-kitchen-sink production of this album are most charming. TWO SIDES will appeal mainly to Who collectors and fans of early-1970s rock styles.
Digitally remastered by Jon Astley and Andy Macpherson.
Recorded at the Record Plant, Los Angeles, California in 1974, and Clover Records, Hollywood, California in September 1975. Includes liner notes by Richard Barnes and Skip Taylor.
