THE LAST GOOD ANNIHILATOR YOU WILL HEAR
Well Annihilator have gone and done it again. With there ever changing sound and band member line up this will be the last good Annihilator album you will hear. WHY? After only two albums as lead singer Joe Comeau (ex-Overkill guitarist) was canned.
Annihilator never sounded better with Joe on the mic and he really brough alot to this struggling band.
If you have never heard the band before they have a tone of releases. Just pic up "Carnival Diablo" & "Waking The Fury"..and forget about the rest.
This is a classic metal release and should be in every metal heads cd player!!!! Joe's vocals really made this one a classic. Check it out!! Submitted by Chris Damon (Pataskala, OH, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A great buy! This Album is incredible, I cannot fully understand why Mr Waters can't hold on to his great bandmates, Joe Corneu is maybe Annihilators best vocalist ever, period.
Anyway I really suggest you buy this album, it's heavy metal reborn. Imagine the basiest guitar sound you've ever heard, the most focused drums and powerful bassdrum , ripping vocals and killing songs, if you can combine these things you are one step closer to realize this albums full potential. methellradio.com Review: ANNIHILATOR have been one of the leading thrash metal bands since the '90's. And still they lead the front, showing how brutal thrash can be a good thing.
After a huge break, Jeff Waters decided to sit down and begin writing some new material. Even though he was just fooling around, it soon became one huge project. He then called in for reinforcements, the rest of the 2000 line-up of ANNIHILATOR.
Needless to say, this album is much like the rest. The sound changes every album, and this album definately has a sound change. The album has definately changed into a more heavier sound.
The lyrics on the album strive from Jeff's experiences and past, and the torment he was currently facing, making the lyrics strong and to the point, but not as personal as any of the previous albums. However, the music is definately even more brutal then the harsh lyrics. The sound is maniacal, and definately one of the better sounds.
But, in any case, the music on this CD is simply extreme, but the lyrics can infact use some work. But all in all, it is simply one of the best thrash albums 2000 has to dish out, and a must for fans of speed and thrash. 10/10 Submitted by apoch (NE PA) Was This Review Helpful? | | Yes Time And A Word CD (1970) Bonus Track; Remastered
Waking The Fury songs
$6.29 Yes' second (and least successful) album was a transitional effort; the group trying for a more produced and sophisticated sound through the use of an orchestra. Even so, the results weren't conventional, because the group didn't tone down or turn down its sound. Much of Time and a Word relies on bold, highly animated performances by Bill Bruford, Chris Squire, and Tony Kaye. Additionally, by this time the group was developing a much tauter ensemble than was evident on their first LP, so there's no lack of visceral excitement. "No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed" was a bold opening, a highly amplified, frenzied adaptation of the Richie Havens song, melded with Jerome ...

| | New Seekers We'D Like To Teach The World To Sing CD (1971)
Waking The Fury CD music
$11.39 We'd Like to Teach the World to Sing by New Seekers is actually their earlier New Colors album with the fifth track on side one, "Move Me Lord," moved off in favor of the group's remake of their Coca Cola commercial. In one of the most interesting moments in pop music, both the Hillside Singers on Metromedia Records and New Seekers on Elektra got into the Top 40 at the same point in time with the exact same song. As commercials keep infiltrating movies, this Top Ten hit for New Seekers was actually a harbinger of things to come three decades after. It also beat out the Hillside Singers, who brought the same tune to the Top 15 the week before. But there's a certain genius to it all, come to think of it. Inundated with the melody via incessant ads, one almost can hear "Coca Cola" in the song, or strain to think the group is singing, "It's the real thing." In Britain, Ray Davies had to remove the name "Coca Cola" and replace it with "cherry cola" in the Kinks' song "Lola" for airplay on the BBC, but no such problem exists here. The marketers made the persistence of memory so overwhelming that the listener knew this wasn't a Pepsi jingle. Side one of the disc is not as solid as the flip, though things start strong with R. Wood's "Tonight" and a nice reading of Richard Kerr's "Evergreen." Peter Doyle's labored vocal and song "Boom-Town" might've served this project better by getting the axe rather than the song that did, "Move Me Lord," though the songwriting royalties on an album with a monster hit may have been what gave this little doggy the nod. Here was an opportunity ...
