| | Lone Wolf & Cub May You Only See Sky CD Lone Wolf & Cub Discography of CDs
Five young men from Chicago with a hornet's nest in their collective bonnet, Chicago's (Lone) Wolf & Cub play mathy, hyper-aggressive, fall-on-the-floor screamo crosscut with significant metallic chug and enough nods to progressive and art rock to keep things interesting. The five songs on MAY YOU ONLY SEE SKY rarely sit still, bursting forth with all the fury of a disciplined teenager seeking revenge. It's a brief, dizzying, affair that scratches the discerning itch for extreme music. | | Metallica Death Magnetic CD (2008)
May You Only See Sky songs
$15.65 In the five years between the two releases, Metallica seem to have gotten back in touch with the raw power of their classic period, with a little help from legendary producer Rick Rubin. One listen to the 10-minute epic "Suicide & Redemption" with its mix of raw rock ferocity and complex musical development should tell you the old Metallica's back in business. Long tracks with complex structures and ...

| | Holly Golightly Singles Round-Up CD (2001)
May You Only See Sky songs
$13.79 Singles Round-Up is nothing fancy, and just exactly what it purports to be: a compendium of 7"s from the first five years of Holly Golightly's solo career. As you'd expect from this former member of Thee Headcoatees, there are plenty of lo-fi garage sounds busting out here. But Golightly works equally hard at honing the cowboy, folk, and pop elements of these mostly original tunes. Naturally, anytime one resource compiles two dozen tracks originally scattered across eight labels, it's a handy item for fans. But ...
| | Circle II Circle Middle Of Nowhere CD (2005) Import; Digipak
May You Only See Sky album
$20.95 Twenty-five months after the release of Watching in Silence came 54 minutes and 26 seconds of Zachary Stevens' newest post-Savatage musical excursions. And again the bulk of the material is co-written by Stevens and Savatage founding member Jon Oliva as well as that band's guitarist, Chris Caffery. All one has to do is spin "Holding On" to hear some in-the-pocket rock metal built with precision and polish, a solid effort that will satisfy those converted to Circle II Circle's mission. Producer/engineer Jim Ward Morris -- having worked with Demons & Wizards, Iced Earth, and others -- keeps the recording clean utilizing a brittle rhythm guitar sound to give the product some edge. While the pure singing lead guitars work, it would have been more fun had they pushed the envelope and just turned it up to 11 to get pure, not manufactured, distortion. The music here cries for that envelope to be pushed and pushed hard. If anything, Circle II Circle is so refined that the seamless, errorless playing cries out for some Rolling Stones sloppiness. Although the title track, "The Middle of Nowhere," is perfect in its majestic balladry, the music is destined to stay within ...
| | Sodom CD (2006)
May You Only See Sky CD music
$13.85 Not many bands manage to endure for over 20 years -- least of all a band whose name would normally draw perfectly blank (and possibly mildly offended) expressions from your average human being, as might Germany's Sodom. But, believe it or not, this eponymous effort from 2006 is something like the 12th studio album released by the ubiquitous Tom "Angelripper" Such and his latest interchangeable henchmen. Sodom's music, too, is a matter of curious interest, since, from the group's very inception, it has represented a rare intersection of styles that experts would normally separate into thrash, speed, death, and black metal (and, depending on how rarely they get laid, even more subdivisions). One listen to Sodom is enough to ascertain that little has changed; most of its songs tend toward the frenetic, dirt-encrusted ends of ...
| | Jette-Ives In The Deep CD (2006)
May You Only See Sky music CDs
$18.99 Jette-Ives is the pensive provocateur of feisty jazz singer Jette Kelly and inimitable composer-producer Holmes Ives. Simultaneously melancholic and lascivious, candid and metaphoric, sometimes jazzy and always charismatic--Jette-Ives's debut album, In the Deep, is an intoxicating, unapologetically debauched liaison with temptation. In the Deep undulates beneath Jette Kelly's cashmere voice and salacious pen; rises with the elegant composition and acclaimed production of Holmes Ives; and coolly lounges on the subtlety, grace, and ...
| | Basement Upstairs Feel Good Music CD (2007)
May You Only See Sky songs
$8.69 The group Basement Upstairs is 10 years strong in the art.Hybrid the master of beatmaking, spoken word, and a plethra of ecclectic sounds. He seems to pocess endless potential on the mic and in the lab. With a spirit that could go down amongst the greats of music, and a live performance that will leave the crowd stuck in amazement he is a name that should be closely watched. The group consists of Mattyritch a heavy presence on the mic, with the heart of a soldier yet the swagger close to comical he has known to be a crowd favorite and a memorable asset. For the hip hop heads and for art Mattyritch is llike n other.Boonie with a passion for the music, his southern energetic and diverse approach combining R-n-B all the way to crunk sporatic flows is a local legend when it comes to the music. Wethor for ...
