$11.39 On THE CROSS OF CHANGES, Enigma delves into the mystic with a musical fervor that transcends sampling technologies and popular dance beats. THE CROSS OF CHANGES is a serene yet supremely sensual musical synthesis that might best be characterized as new age hip-hop. Enigma's worldwide hit MCMXC A.D. was notable for, among other things, its use of Gregorian chants as samples in a heady techno mix, which inspired such delirious interest ...

$13.05 Enchanted Journey is a project of David and Steve Gordon, owners of Sequoia Records, who here bill themselves as Everstar. Inspired, or perhaps sensing an opportunity, the duo created Journey with a nod to the Lord of the Rings films. The album begins with "Departure From the Shire," moving through tracks like "Lady of the Golden Wood," "On the Road to Rivendell," and so on. The problem is, nothing on Enchanted Journey is unique, or seems influenced by anything other than the rest of Sequoia's catalog of new age. Despite the liner notes' "realms of myth and mystery" and assertions of a Renaissance influence, there are scant few landmarks on this journey, and only a perfunctory nod to the Renaissance music tradition during "Silver Fountains Fall." That track becomes a standout, if only for the classical guitars and an evocative melody that distinguishes it in the surrounding smokescreen of synthesizer workouts. "River Running"'s ambient nature ...

$12.69 “I WAS ADDICTED TO DRUGS ALL MY LIFE”By September 2004, I was in the final stage of a long, unsuccessful battle against drug addiction. My life was in chaos – heroin addicted, homicidal and suicidal; looking back now, I’m sure I would have died soon. I was 46 years old and had moved out of my home, away from my wife of 23 years and my four year old daughter. I was losing my business and everything else that had mattered to me. I couldn’t stop using. My life could be summed up by Romans 7:15 “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do”.God had plans for me though. Several people performed an intervention. I agreed to go into the Teen Challenge program. That day, the absolute worst day of my life, has turned out to be the best day of my life. Within a week I found out what salvation meant, and for the first time I really felt what Paul was talking about when he wrote in Philippians 3:10-11 and said “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead”. I have been clean since that day I entered Teen Challenge. My life has been restored, and I am blessed beyond measure. I am reunited with my family. I have found the freedom that Paul wrote about in Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened ...
