| | Chris Spedding Click Clack CD (2005)
Best Of Supersax & The LA Voices
$14.65 Although Chris Spedding has never landed the big worldwide hit, the British guitarist/vocalist enjoys an excellent reputation among musicians and fans alike. Spedding has worked with stars such as Elton John, Jack Bruce, Donovan, John Cale, Jim Capaldi, Art Garfunkel or Ginger Baker. His versatile style, acclaimed compositional talent and intuitive feel for sensitive instrumentations have earned him countless jobs as a studio guitarist and live musician. "Click Clack", is another impressive melange of rock, blues, country, jazz and gospel. Spedding not only composed most of the tracks himself, he also recorded the vocal, guitar, keyboard, violin, bass and harmonica parts himself, as well as composing half of the material. His friend and frequent companion Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music) also followed Spedding’s invitation, contributing the impressive harmonica solo on ‘Hear Your Daddy’.
Personnel: Chris Spedding (vocals, guitar, violin, harmonica, keyboards); Chris Spedding; Danny Thompson (acoustic bass); Sarah Brown (vocals); Freddy Koella (mandolin); Bryan Ferry (harmonica); Iain Dixon (tenor saxophone); Tal Bergman (drums). Photographer: Issa Sharp. You certainly can't call Chris Spedding's 2005 release, Click Clack, a true blues album. While the respected session guitarist's roots certainly lay in blues-rock, the ...

| | Pete Ekstam Scars To Show EP CD (2006)
Best Of Supersax & The LA Voices
$10.15 Biography as of January, 2007Written by Cleo Bloom“The one who is constant in happiness must frequently change.” If you live your life by Chinese proverbs Pete Ektam is no stranger to smiling. This acoustic finger style favorite has his roots in the mid-west state of Minnesota by now, after a few stops of course, has landed in the Mesa Arizona area, where he continues to delight audiences with his meshing of adventurous, unique guitar and diverse and heartfelt lyrics. Like his frequently changing habitat his songs migrate as well. Topics, tone, and tempo are continually being altered giving Pete a very eclectic style, and giving listeners songs for every mood, moment, and measure.Critics everywhere will struggle to label Ekstam’s artistry (although he would probably be found in the Rock & R n’ B section in music stores) which started in punk bands at the ripe age of 14. His first recording came with a band named “Short Changed,” which is far from what Pete has become as a now solo artist, all acoustic with a quick ...

Best Of Supersax & The LA Voices
$10.19 (3-CD set)
This lavishly appointed, extensively annotated, DVD-shaped, three-CD box set celebrates the first decade in the life of Albuquerque, NM's Meteor City -- arguably the definitive stoner rock record label, given its longevity (only England's more doom-leaning Rise Above and Detroit's Small Stone come close), and strict devotion to the various heavy rock subgenres (metal, classic rock, desert rock, space rock, etc.), orbiting the greater stoner rock galaxy. Like most everyone in any way associated with the stoner rock scene, Meteor City founders Jadd Schickler and Aaron Emmel were originally inspired to action by Kyuss, whose seminal releases of the mid-'90s managed to coalesce nearly three decades of far-flung hard rock and metal influences under this popular new heading that Gen X'ers looking beyond grunge's confines would readily ...
