Conflict includes: Colin (vocals). Additional personnel includes: Steve Ignorant (vocals). Recorded live at the Brixton Academy, London, England. Conflict's TURNING REBELLION INTO MONEY is a live recording made in 1987. It contains the tracks "A Piss in the Ocean," "The Serenade is Dead," and "So What," among others. The set comes with a 15-page booklet. At the peak of their success and before they were banned across Britain, Conflict put together the Gathering of the 5000 at the Brixton Academy in London. Thousands showed up, but the gig is mostly infamous for the police riot that followed, where 52 people were arrested and nine policeman injured. There's also this double live album recording, which is famous in its own right, because it has Conflict performing most of their hits along with a bunch of Crass songs, with Steve Ignorant on vocals. The sound quality isn't great, though not bad either. There are some pauses for fighting, as well as a warning from Conflict to the crowd that there's a wall of police waiting for them outside. Other songs which ended in fighting were cut from the record. Conflict plays Crass' hits like "Do They Owe Us a Living?" and "Banned From the U.K." fine, but other than as a historical document, this record is not essential. ~ Adam Bregman Turning Rebellion Into Money Music Conflict Turning Rebellion Into Money Songs Turning Rebellion Into Money Music Turning Rebellion Into Money Review

Turning Rebellion Into Money
$14.09 Audio Mixer: Randy Staub . When Layne Staley died from a drug overdose in 2002, it had already been several years since most Alice in Chains fans stopped hoping for a new album. The singer had become a recluse since the late-`90s, and there was little indication that AIC would ever again produce much in the way of new music. As a result, when the remaining members reunited to release BLACK GIVES WAY TO BLUE in 2009, expectations were low. To the delight of all however, the album proved to be perhaps the Seattle combo's most energetic and consistent effort since its masterpiece DIRT. Perhaps the most surprising element of the new record was how much it sounded exactly like Alice in Chains. While new singer William DuVall was not an exact Staley soundalike, he managed to evoke both the unique timbre and sense ...

The band's sophomore effort finds them slipping drastically after a fine debut. It has its moments but the overall impression is a lack of inspiration and direction. ~ Chris Woodstra The problem with the second Members album is -- it wasn't their debut. At the Chelsea Nightclub remains one of the last truly great albums of the entire punk period, the home to some of the era's most contagiously anthemic singles, and a difficult act for any band to follow. 1980: The Choice Is Yours, on the other hand, can't make up its mind whether its makers ...
