$9.79 Einar (Kirk Douglas), a hideously scarred Viking warrior, seeks land acquisition and the hand of the beautiful Princess Morgana (Janel Leigh). Einar crosses paths with Eric (Tony Curtis) who has his sights set on the same prizes. The two have more in common than they know; unbeknownst to one another, they are brothers.
This 1958 epic was based on an actual Viking, Ragnar Lothbrok, a sadistic and adventurous sailor. While not very rooted in fact, the film is a rousing adventure with lusty, violent imagery very bold for its time. A scene where Janet Leigh's clothing is ripped, enabling her to row a boat and exposing her back was considered very risque and undoubtedly added to the film's stellar performance at the box office. Ernest Borgnine shines as Ragnar and Jack Cardiff's photography is breathtaking. An opening animated historical ...

$31.25 Considered by many to be the greatest of cinema's silent clowns, Buster Keaton was a consummate practitioner of physical comedy. Although labeled the "Great Stone Face," Keaton found tremendous eloquence in his deadpan style with his alert and expressive eyes, lithe acrobat's body, and a consummate air of grace. This release from the TCM Archives puts the spotlight on his MGM period. THE CAMERAMAN, remastered with a new score by Arthur Barnow, and SPITE MARRIAGE are among Keaton's funniest silents, while FREE AND EASY is his first talkie. Also included is film historian Kevin Brownlow's poignant documentary, "So Funny It Hurts: Buster Keaton at MGM," completing a collection which offers keen insight ...

$10.49 Carl Franklin and Denzel Washington (DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS) reteam for this hilariously refreshing noir thriller. Washington is Matt Lee Whitlock, police chief of a small Florida town just outside of Miami. In the process of getting a divorce from the woman he still loves, Alex (the sultry Eva Mendes), Chief Whitlock has begun to have an affair with Anne (Sanaa Lathan), wife of abusive ex-football quarterback Chris Harrison (Dean Cain). When he learns that Anne has terminal cancer and doesn't have long to live, Whitlock's stupidity gets the better of him. He steals $450,000 cash that is waiting to be sent to the feds in order to help her out. But when both Anne and Chris's dead bodies are discovered the next morning, all of the signs point to Whitlock. As the clamps begin to tighten and the excuses begin to lose their already shaky groundings, Whitlock must use his cunning to track down the money and clear his name once and for all. Gleefully subverting typical film noir conventions, first-time screenwriter David Collard's script is an utter delight. Featuring outstanding supporting turns from Lathan and Mendes, OUT OF TIME is a rollicking ride through the swampy haze of southern Florida.
