This soundtrack album to the Emmy Award-winning 1974 children's TV special has become something of a classic over the years, and with good reason--its kid-friendly message of tolerance still resonates. More importantly, the songs, including contributions from Broadway vet Sheldon Harnick and Dr. Hook auteur Shel Silverstein, are cute without being cloying--"My Dog Is a Plumber" and "Don't Dream Your Cat in an Apron" are particularly endearing--and the cast is pure '70s variety-show heaven. Frankly, any album featuring Alan Alda, Mel Brooks, and Carol Channing is doing something right from the get-go.
Recorded at A&R Studios in New York City.
Additional guest artists: Dick Cavett, Carol Channing, Billy De Wolf, Rosey Grier, Shirley Jones, Bobby Morse, The New Seekers, Diana Ross, Diana Sands, Tommy Smothers.

Free To Be...You And Me album
$15.89 Upon the release of this debut album, Massachusetts native Dar Williams quickly won comparisons to Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell. Such assessments are complimentary, but Williams doesn't take herself quite as seriously as those seminal soprano folksingers. Williams has a wicked sense of humor. She delivers her ...

Free To Be...You And Me CD music
$10.79 Jerry Landers (a terrifically surprising John Denver) is an average guy in every sense of the word. He lives a completely normal, dull life, working at the local supermarket (where everybody, of course, knows him and likes him) and never doing anything out of the ordinary. That's why no one is more surprised than he is when God chooses to make ...

Free To Be...You And Me music CDs
$17.75 Even more so than its predecessor, the Raven two-fer Right or Wrong/Seven Year Ache, this pair of albums on one CD shows the depth and breadth of how far Rosanne Cash was willing to go in order to remake modern country music into something she considered not only interesting but also valid for the time period. Somewhere in the Stars and Rhythm & Romance are exercises in making seamless all the music that she and Rodney Crowell, her then husband, producer, and collaborator, had ...
