Solo album
$14.38 Orchestral and choral arrangements of rock songs have been a curious subgenre ever since the mid-'60s when Andrew Loog Oldham arranged The Rolling Stones Songbook for syrupy strings, but The Kinks Choral Collection stands apart from the pack for the simple reason that it's not the project of some associate or admirer, but rather chief Kink Ray Davies. His very presence as arranger and lead vocal means The Kinks Choral Collection isn't nearly as stuffy and middlebrow as so many of these orchestral rock albums; he manages to inject some semblance of rock & roll by pushing the songs forward with guitar, and letting the rhythms swing instead of plod. This looseness is the first big surprise of the album. The second is its unrepentant but quite possibly accidental silliness, how ...

Solo album
$13.69 Recorded between 1960 and 1967. Includes liner notes by Steve Kolanjian.
Digitally remastered by Eliot Goshman (1995, Taragon Studios, Deer Park, New York).
Beginning with Louis Armstrong, through Harry James and Bobby Hackett of the Jackie Gleason Orchestra, the trumpet was once a king in pop music. This was true even in '60s-era easy listening, as demonstrated by the success of Al Hirt, Herb Alpert, and the ultra-shrewd German musician Bert ...

| | Greg Wilson Take It Slow CD (2000)
Solo music CDs
$8.39 This country singer/songwriter is the best and most honest person to hit the country music scene since George Strait himself. The quality he possesses shows in his writing and his voice. He plays guitar with equal ability. This man and his songs have to be heard, it would be criminal to keep his talents locked away! Listen to him sing and you will know what I mean!Greg has been singing and performing in public since almost the day he got his first guitar. The first band he was in was named "BLUE HORIZON" and was based in Warren, Illinois. The band played early folk music, pop, and a 'little' country. Greg got his first recognition for his songwriting efforts with this band in a competition in Winslow Illinois the band took first place with a song, "Time In A Window" which Greg co-wrote with another band member. After high school Greg joined his first true country band, "JASON STONE AND THE TUMBLEWEEDS". This popular northern Illinois band played all the big venues in Illinois and Wisconsin and appeared weekly in a local country radio opry show until the lead singer decided to move to Nashville to pursue his career. With the drummer and bass player from the Tumbleweeds, Greg formed the "TAILSPIN BAND". An outlaw country band which played everything from Waylon to Van Halen. This band became and instant regional success and released three locally popular singles. They also appeared on several radio shows and were booked regularly on TV in Clinton Iowa as local favorites. The band also opened some summer shows for singers Sylvia and for Crystal Gayle. After the Tailspin band, the bass player and Greg decided to make a national tour and formed "BLAZER". With this group they toured extensively in the western united states for about five years before family illnesses caused Greg and the bassist to come home. Greg spent the next several years reflecting on his life on the road and writing new songs both by himself and with a co-writer ...
| | Nina Simone Collection CDs (2006) Import; Boxed Set
Solo songs
$12.79 The title, The Nina Simone Collection, and the sheer number of tracks assembled here, 43, would lead a buyer to expect that this box set offers a carefully compiled overview of this great singer's catalog. A glance at the track list would seem to confirm this: many of Simone's most important benchmarks are accounted for: "I Loves You Porgy," "To Be Young, Gifted and Black," "My Baby Just Cares for Me," "Mississippi Goddam," "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," et. al. But a closer perusal reveals a whole lot of asterisks next to song titles, and in tiny lettering at the ...
| | Feline Melinda CD (2008)
Solo album
$15.19 This is the 2004 album of the italian Rockers FELINE MELINDA. Very soon you´ll be able to hear the new release of the band right here on CD Baby !In the following get to know more about the band´s history:It is during the 80's, when Glam Rock and Heavy Metal on one hand developed to extreme opposites and on the other hand some very prolific and successful bands are able to unite both styles and create legendary records with an unleashed variety of range and musical colours.Anyway, this are the years when two musicians, playing in some local rock bands, decide to unite in order to found a new rock group, featuring that powerful and many-sided music. Rob Irbiz (vocals, guitar) and Andy De Santis (vocals, bass, keyboards, guitar) start their adventure project and from the beginning it's clear that a new Heavy-Rock sound bound to traditional European rock would have been born soon. From the more speedier and heavy recordings made with various drummers (1987 "German Metal Fighters"/LP-compilation, 1988 "The Felines Await You"/LP, 1989 "Heart & Heavy"/CD-compilation, all records distributed in Germany and Italy), the band develop into high power melodic rock thanks to the new and ambitious drummer, Ice-hockey forward Chris Platzer. After some "live-time" the recording-studio is again waiting for them and the result is a very convincing, "handwritten" signature of the group: "Living In Europe", an EP-CD recorded in 1995 and published in Germany and Italy. As it happens so many times, lack of distribution and changes within small record-companies put the brakes to the growing bands and the EP is limited to an underground-spreading.However, the band stands up and fights again! New releases in 1996 ("TN-Rock"/CD-compilation) and the video to the most successful song "Don't Cry" (distributed all over Italy, "Tendence Video Compilation") gives the band new motivation and power. After a few compilations (1997 "Rock Alternative Collection", 1998 "Impulse 1998"), distributed in Germany and Austria, the three musicians decide to record a new full-length CD.Entitled "Feline Melinda", released in 2004, the album features a simply, elegant cover with the silver emblem of the band on a black background. The album represents the creativity of the band throughout all the years. Recording and mastering finished in 2003 between south Lake of Garda, Italy, and the very north of Germany, it contains 13 tracks (7 new songs, 5 re-mastered songs and 1 cover-song). The album is the first step into the future of the group, because after many years of fertile and creative cooperation Andy De Santis in September of the same year leaves the band.Within ...
