Rick Wakeman and the New English Rock Ensemble present OUT THERE, dedicated to the astronauts who gave their lives on the Columbia space mission. This album features six extensive progressive rock tracks.
This 2003 album is, arguably, a return to Rick Wakeman's greatest strength: keyboard-driven symphonic prog, with unabashed '70s excess like chorales and long song journeys. Singer Damian Wilson is at full throttle here, emoting up a storm, and Wakeman makes good use of his band, featuring Tony Fernandez on drums.
Re-issue of a true progressive rock masterpiece.
Personnel: Rick Wakeman (keyboards); Damian Wilson (vocals); Fraser Thorneycroft-Smith (guitar, acoustic guitar); Ant Glynne (electric guitar); Tony Fernandez (drums, percussion).

Out There
$15.09 Formed in 1968, Yes has maintained a loyal fan base over its long career. Outlasting other progressive rock groups of the 1970s, Yes is one of the more successful bands to emerge from that musical genre. Featuring live performances of songs covering their career, this release celebrates their 35th anniversary. Fronted by Jan Anderson on Vocals, Yes also includes Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman, and Alan White. In this release, Yes exhibits a style reminiscent of the epic concerts from their past. Performing on a stage designed by well-known Yes Collaborator Roger Dean, the band plays songs including: "Going For the One," "Sweet Dreams," "Your Move (All Good People)," "Mind Drive Parts 1 and 2," "South Side of the Sky," "Turn of the Century," "My Eyes/Mind Drive Part 3," "Yours ...
| | Kate Bush Red Shoes (Japan LP Sleeve) CD (1993) (Import) Japan; Mini LP Sleeve
Out There
$40.45 Kate Bush was never the most prolific of artists; this 1993 album and its attendant singles formed her complete '90s output. Her recordings are carefully conceived, densely orchestrated, and finely tuned, and THE RED SHOES is no exception. Though spontaneity may not be her strong suit, her records are never dull or self-indulgent.
Among Kate Bush's most relaxed recordings, THE RED SHOES features a number of guest appearances, notably Eric Clapton, Nigel Kennedy, and Jeff Beck. ...

| | Electric Light Orchestra A New World Record - Expanded Edition CD (1976) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Out There
$7.59 Also available in a 3-pack with FACE THE MUSIC and DISCOVERY.
1976's A NEW WORLD RECORD is both a classic of commercial '70s pop and an archetypal ELO album. From the outer-space synths and rich orchestrations that open the album to Jeff Lynne's meticulous production and Beatlesque melodies, A NEW WORLD RECORD is magnificent ear candy. Both ambitious enough to appeal to "serious" rock fans and ultra-catchy enough to sound terrific on Top 40 radio (the plaintively gorgeous, McCartney-like "Telephone Line" and the anthemic "Livin' Thing" were well-deserved smashes), ELO was one of the few '70s bands whose appeal covered both the FM and AM spectrums. The album even resurrects "Do Ya," a classic single by Lynne's former band, the Move, in a splashy new version.
The next ELO album, 1977's elaborate double-album OUT OF THIS WORLD, was probably the band's commercial high point, but A NEW WORLD RECORD is the group's artistic high-water mark.
Jeff Lynne reportedly regards this album and its follow-up, Out of the Blue, as the high points in the band's history. One might be better off opting for A New World Record over its successor, however, as a more modest-sized creation chock full of superb songs that are produced even better. Opening with the opulently orchestrated ...
| | Electric Light Orchestra On The Third Day CD (1973) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Expanded Edition
Out There
$7.59 In some ways, 1973's ON THE THIRD DAY is the first "true" ELO album. Though co-founder Roy Wood had left the band to form the more experimental Wizzard after the first album, his influence was still all over 1972's ELO II, especially on the orchestrated cover of Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven." ON THE THIRD ...

| | Verbal Abuse Just An American Band CD (1996)
Out There
$11.15 In 1983 and 1984, punk was an idiom that thrived on rawness and gut-level emotion; it was rock & roll at its most primal and basic -- and these hot-blooded, inspired performances are about as primal as it gets. It isn't hard to understand why the band was called Verbal Abuse; songs like "I Hate You," "Disintegration" and "Leeches" rival Black Flag when it comes to having antisocial lyrics. Although original material dominates the CD, there a few noteworthy covers -- including a live performance of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" and an unlikely version of Grand Funk's "We're an American Band." Anyone who appreciates the early-'80s output of Black Flag, Fear or the Circle Jerks is advised to give Just an American Band a close listen. ~ Alex Henderson
This was the first full length done by Verbal Abuse. Its a total hardcore master piece right from the early 80's. Speed, anger frustration and rage all made this full length what it is. After many years of this being out of print Beer City has once again made it available to the masses. Not only does this CD contain the original 'Just an American band ' full length but it also contains a set live from a show that they opened for The Ramones! In this live set are a few songs that have never before been recorded by Verbal Abuse. Not to forget all the power and adrenaline you get to experience from a live show.
If you know any people who consider themselves major punk experts but are unfamiliar with Verbal Abuse, they shouldn't feel too bad. Verbal Abuse isn't a huge name in the punk world, but they made some noteworthy contributions to the Bay Area punk scene of the '80s. Although ...

| | Introducing Joss Stone CD (2007) With DVD; Deluxe Edition; Digipak
Out There
$18.85 This is an Deluxe edition Of "INTRODUCING JOSS STONE". Includes Bonus DVD.
British soul-pop singer Joss Stone was originally marketed as the teenage second coming of 1970s soul stars like Betty Everett and Ann Peebles. After two albums in that style (one consisting entirely of obscure soul covers) and a U.S. marketing push including several commercials for the Gap, Stone withdrew for a couple of years. INTRODUCING JOSS STONE, from the title onward, is an attempt to completely reinvent Stone's public persona, from a retro-soul blonde to a hip, happening redhead with her finger directly on the pulse of 2007 chart pop.
INTRODUCING JOSS STONE is produced by a bevy of contemporary hitmakers, though primarily Raphael Saadiq, and features cameo appearances by everyone from Lauryn Hill to ex-soccer star Vinnie Jones. But in the center of the drum loops, string sections, and slick electronics stands Stone's commanding voice. Opening track "Girl ...
| | Mus La Vida CD (2007)
Out There
$15.89 MUS is a unique band, not only in Spain but in the rest of the world. No other band does what they do. It is something you notice as soon as you listen to the new album: all the songs evoke images of pure beauty where the usually opposing worlds of tradition and the avant-garde seem to meet. MUS are innovators in the creation of sounds and atmospheres and in the composition of songs and arrangements but they also look back to their past (or perhaps to an imaginary present) because one of their essential features is that they sing in Asturian, a Romantic ...
