Oslo-based The Carburetors has been one of the hottest unsigned rock'n roll bands in Norway. The band has played numerous gigs all the time and produced a couple of 7 inch vinyl singles. The band recorded their debut-album "Pain Is Temporary - Glory Is Forever". The band recorded a video for the track "Burn Out", and this video was the second most broadcasted music video in Norway during the summer of 2003. Comprised of 18 tracks culled from the singer/composer's first three decades, The Very Best of Enya was pieced together by the artist herself, along with longtime collaborators Nicky and Roma Ryan. Luckily, the trio seems enamored by most of the same songs that the general public is, resulting in one of those rare "greatest-hits" collections that goes deep without depriving the listener of the essentials. With tunes like "Orinoco Flow," "Caribbean Blue," and "Book of Days" in the pot and out of the way, it's easier to appreciate hidden gems like "Cursum Perficio," "Boadicea," "Trains and Winter Rains," and "Anywhere Is." Judas Priest's 1990 release, PAINKILLER, shows the band returning to ferocious metal after such musical detours as 1986's TURBO. It also proved to be the British band's last outing with original singer Rob Halford. Drummer Scott Travis (ex-Racer X) makes his Priest debut here, while the sound and songwriting is comparable to thrash/speed metal.
The album-opening title track is one of Priest's heaviest and greatest songs (brace yourself before it kicks in!), and the band takes no prisoners on such titles as "Hell Patrol" and "A Touch of Evil." An inspired way to close out Halford-era Priest.

On their latest effort, Atreyu come with more of the same metalcore that listeners have come to expect from the band. All of the familiar elements are in place, with the alternating screaming/soaring vocals, thundering double bass drumming, and big, crunchy riffage. The difference here is that the band seems to have mellowed out a bit, opting for a more melodic approach. Like their last album, the songs here feel somewhat restrained, like they're just dying to break free of the polished production. The intensity of SUICIDE NOTES and BUTTERFLY KISSES seems to have been put out to pasture, with the songs feeling more deliberately poppy.
