For Young Lovers, Where The Sun Is Music For Young Lovers, Where The Sun Is Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) 2 EXCELLENTS LP FROM 60´S I'm not a musical engineer. I'm not a musician. But I know deeply the music of Mr. Aldrich.
Can someone explain me why when remaster the master tapes, the first notes of some songs are cuts? (the songs do not begin at the first note): please, listen the track #18, Till. Or why sound is out-of-tune (too in the first notes), as in tracks # 16 (Nuages), 19 (La boheme) and 22 (Sabor a mi)?
I can say that because I have the LP (recorded in Spain. "Where the sun is" never was released in America), and some compilations made by Decca under Eclipse label some years ago. In that, Till begins in the first note, soft, elegant! And the sound in the first notes are perfect!
I thanks to Vocalion for remaster until now 26 LPs of Ronnie, and I hope this mistake will be fixed for the rest of the collection (around 14 LPs).
The first record, "For young lovers" was made in 1968, with full orchestra, big sound and big hits in that moment, as "What the world needs now", "It must be him" and "Born free".
The second one, recorded in 1966. Was made with a small group of musicians, and romantic music, as "Strangers when we meet", "Nuages", "Till", the glorius "Anema & core" and "Sabor a mi".
I really enjoy the music of Aldrich in Phase 4, and the music of Aldrich in Reader´s Digest label, under his name, and under "Richard Alden" pseudonym

Never released in the USA before! Where the Sun Is is a superb album of late sixties continental gems Ronnie recorded for Phase 4 but never got released in the States. For Young Lovers is just that a terrific album of classic love songs with rich dynamic string arrangements...ya gotta have it! Submitted by dorian (san francisco) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

For Young Lovers, Where The Sun Is album
$18.19 Cultural critic Greil Marcus wrote a scathing essay at the end of the 1970s about the rampant overuse of the word "survivor" in modern life. Over 25 years on, musicians of a certain age arguably have more of a right to use the S-word, especially a saxophonist like Donald Harrison, who has stayed true to his own soul-jazz path since his early days as a sideman despite the fact that his brand of funk-influenced hard bop has rarely been the least bit fashionable, even among many jazz listeners. The Survivor is a timeless album, most of which sounds like it could have come from any point in Harrison's career. Yet it's no mere nostalgia kick, because underneath Harrison's sterling alto work, the rhythm section sounds fairly attuned to contemporary trends. "The Hook ...
