| | Partridge Family Crossword Puzzle CD (1973)
Raise Your Hackles
$11.65 Crossword Puzzle was the eighth LP from the Partridge Family -- a multimedia, made-for-TV project that hit marketing pay dirt learning lessons from the success of the Monkees' manufactured origins, as well as the real-life pop/rock family the Cowsills. As a weekly prime time sitcom, The Partridge Family ran on ABC-TV from September 25, 1970, through August 31, 1974. As musical artists, they further mimicked the Monkees' phenomenon by having primary cast members -- in this case, Shirley Jones (vocals) and David Cassidy (vocals) -- as the group's lead vocalists. Accompanying Cassidy and Jones was a veritable who's who of studio heavyweights such as Hal Blaine (drums), Larry Carlton (guitar), Joe Osborne (bass), and Larry Knechtel (keyboards). They were joined by the painfully sweet backing vocals of the six-member Love Generation, who participated to some degree on every one of the Partridge Family's LPs. Judging by not only the lackluster chart ...
| | Tussle Don't Stop CD (2004) Extended Play
Raise Your Hackles
$6.39 One of the smarter bands blending rock and dance, Tussle understands that suggesting something is often more powerful than just stating it. Their second EP, Don't Stop, mixes disco, dub and rock, among other elements, but it seems that the more influences they blend into their music, the more their music ends up sounding like Tussle. For a group that incorporates two drummers, a bassist/melodica player, and a keyboardist, their sound is surprisingly minimal, suggesting an even sleeker, more groove-oriented version of Out Hud or !!!. The EP's title track is a perfect example of Tussle doing more with less; its undulating bassline, shifting percussion, and barest hints of melody create a cool, cavernous ...

| | Blue Cantina Laguna Sessions CD (2008)
Raise Your Hackles
$12.69 THE BLUE CANTINA is a powerful R'n'R band born in Ravenna, Italy, in 2000 by the union of the multi-instrumental front man Filo and his three old buddies Luigi, Cesare and Andrea, each with different music styles and attitudes. They started to build the band around Filo's compositions and created a very personal and original, but easy listening sound. The sound is based on the 70's and 80's Rockân Roll stuff and influenced by different music stiles. Songs and gigs are conceived to take the listener on a journey through different atmospheres, from fun to introspective moments and back to shaking-ass vibes. The guys, inspired by the wetlands close to the city they're living in, called their sound âAss shakin' r'n'r from the Lagunaâ. The Band has a very communicative live attitude and a very strong impact on the stage consolidated by a constant activity in local clubs. In 2005 the bass guitar player Cesare was replaced by Sym. THE BLUE CANTINA got good reviews from the indie âzines (for example www.circuitosonoro.it) who received their lo-fi self-produced demos.Awards :They won some Awards and had a lot of nominees in local and national band competitions (Big 2001, Ritmi Globali Europei 2002, I-Tim Tour 2002,etc.). Other participations: in 2004 - 2° Trend&Blues Festival di Ruffano (LE) - the band got the 3rd place in the competition, obtaining a great audience success. In 2004 - exhibition during M.E.I. (most important Italian Independent Labels Meeting) at Demo Award Radio Rai, as one of the 3 best rising bands of the year of Demo Radio Rai (one of biggest national radio-networks). In 2005, SanRemo Rock 2005 award â the band won the award with the song âLost&Foundâ, with live show on Radio Rai 2 (national network) and transmission of the event on satellite television network; the song is included in a compilation distributed all over Italy. Participations / Appearances:The band played for some opening acts with the famous indie-band Tito & Tarantula (soundtrack of the R. Rodriguez' movie âFrom Dusk till Dawnâ) and other Italian bands and artists (Shandon, Beppe Grillo, Rossana Casale, Francesco ...
