Heartbreaker album
$8.99 The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. Each track offers at least one musical hook, whether it is the beauty of 'Human Nature' ...
| | Slayer World Painted Blood CD (2009)
Heartbreaker CD music
$10.39 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece REIGN IN BLOOD; it shared the earlier album's ferocious aggression and trademark speed metal-meets-hardcore sound. Throughout, the sound is lean and ...
| | Katatonia Night Is The New Day CD (2009)
Heartbreaker music CDs
$14.04 The latest album from Swedish doom rockers Katatonia, their first studio effort since 2006, is as moody and beautiful as their other latter-day work. The group's career can be marked in two stages based on the condition of singer Jonas Renske's vocal cords -- basically, after the band's first two albums, he developed health problems that prevented him from performing harsh death growls, and ever since the band has moved in an increasingly melodic direction, even covering songs by Will Oldham and Jeff Buckley. It's unsurprising to learn that Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt helped out by performing the harsh vocals on Katatonia's Brave Murder Day album and Sounds of Decay EP in 1996 and 1997, ...

| | Queen Greatest Hits I, II & III: The Platinum Collection CDs (2001) Box Set
Heartbreaker album
$15.39 Recorded between 1974 & 1997. Includes liner notes by Jim Jenkins, Jacky Smith, Andy Davis, Phil Symes.
With Queen officially enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Hollywood Records reintroduces the band yet again with the release of GREATEST HITS I, II & III. While Volumes I and II are full of Queen classics you already know by heart, the third cobbles together odds and sods from the far corners of Queen's canon along with solo cuts from Freddie Mercury and Brian May.
Opening with the operatic rock classic "Bohemian Rhapsody," it's easy to hear not only how this British quartet achieved the kind of global acclaim that ensured they'd be enshrined alongside the likes of the Beatles and Led Zeppelin. When they weren't dabbling in playful '50s-flavored rock & roll ("Crazy Little Thing Called Love"), catchy glam ("Killer ...

$14.24 Comprised of 18 tracks culled from the singer/composer's first three decades, The Very Best of Enya was pieced together by the artist herself, along with longtime collaborators Nicky and Roma Ryan. Luckily, the trio seems enamored by most of the same songs that the general public is, ...

| | Band Vocalist: Mildred Bailey, Vol. 2 CD (1994)
Heartbreaker songs
$14.55 The second of two CDs from the TOM ("The Old Masters") label finishes the documentation of singer Mildred Bailey's earliest recordings. Bailey is featured with Paul Whiteman, the Dorsey Brothers Big Band, the Casa Loma Orchestra ("Heat Wave"), an all-star group with Benny Goodman (and tenor-great Coleman Hawkins) and on a her few of her own sessions. Although the emphasis is on ballads, the program generally holds on to one's interest (despite a few songs with racist lyrics, notably "Snowball") and the Goodman session (which is rounded off ...

| | Mariel Grande 3 Bottles Of Champagne CD (2008) (Import)
Heartbreaker songs
$14.29 Mariel Grande is a contemporary jazz singer/songwriter from a lovely small town in the South of Poland. From a very early age Mariel was passionate about singing and would happily sing her little heart out for hours at a time. She dreamed that one day she would become an international recording star. Whilst at secondary school she gained a reputation as a rock chick when she was the singer in a pop/rock band playing covers of songs by Polish artists like Bajm, Urszula and Various Manx. Funnily enough Mariel bears a passing resemblance to a very young Beata Kozidrak, the lead singer of Bajm. Her idols at the time were Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Edyta Gorniak, she greatly admired their vocal styles. During this time she was also taking singing lessons and performing at local events. Mariel later moved to Krakow to study International Relations at the university there. Krakow is one of the major cities in Poland and has a rich historical heritage. Mariel would enter this monthly competition at a student cultural centre called Rotunda. The name of this competition was Everybody Can Sing and the panel of judges consisted of local artists and staff from Radio Krakow. This proved to be a major turning point in her career when one of her songs Sto Con Te sung in Italian (I'm With You) was played on the airwaves in 2002. Mariel recorded this song with her friend Sebastian Perlowski who wrote the music while the words were written by Mariel herself.Whilst attending university Mariel was also taking acting and vocal lessons. She continued to be actively involved in the musical and artistic side of life in Poland. After graduating from university Mariel moved to London in 2003. This was a hard and tearful decision for her to make, leaving behind her family and friends to start a new life abroad. Perhaps there is something to be said about being young and having a sense of adventure. Anyway this sacrifice was necessary if she was to succeed in a very competitive field such as the music industry. She chose the highly cosmopolitan city of London because it has a very vibrant music scene and attracted talent from around the world like a magnet. In the beginning it was lonely and hard adjusting to her new life in a foreign land, as she soon found out the streets of this famous capital city were not paved with gold. Compared to Poland London was a very expensive place to live. Mariel had a number of odd jobs to make ends meet like waitressing, cinema usher and office work. In between she would sing whenever she got the chance. Sometimes she sang for the senior citizens in day care centres. They would be most appreciative when she performed jazz standards like "The Lady is a Tramp" and "Fly Me To the Moon" because these songs reminded them of their youth. She regularly attended auditions and entered competitions in the hope that she would get noticed. Despite the harsh realities of numerous rejections and setbacks, Mariel remained resilient. It would have been all too easy for her to pack her bags and go home, she was determined to give it her best shot and concentrate on perfecting her craft.Mariel used her hard earned savings ...
