| | #1 Hits: Best Of 60S Rock Radio CD
It's doubtful whether anyone would mistake the tracks collected on this brief anthology for the best of '60s rock radio (where, for instance, are the Beatles, the Who, the Rolling Stones, the Byrds, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, and any number of other high-profile 1960s rock acts?), but as a set of what AM rock radio frequently sounded like late in the decade, #1 Hits: Best of 60s Rock Radio makes for a quick nostalgic road trip, and it does include the original single versions by the original artists. ~ Steve Leggett #1 Hits: Best Of 60S Rock Radio Music #1 Hits: Best Of 60S Rock Radio Songs | 1. | Spinning Wheel - Blood, Sweat & Tears |

#1 Hits: Best Of 60S Rock Radio music CDs
$17.79 Anyone familiar with the industrial-metal band's dark sense of irony should take one look at the title of Rammstein's 2009 album LIEBE IST FUR ALLE DA ("Love Is There For Everyone") and conclude that this one is a mean monster. Combining the tightness and punch of their 1998 album SEHNSUCHT with the musicianship and elaborate textures of their later work, LIEBE IST is a grand achievement, skillfully dividing its time between razor sharp metal rockers like "B********" or the opening theme song "Rammlied" and nostalgic, cabaret pieces that conjure the spirits of Weil and Brecht at a goth club. Best of the latter is the naked and haunting closer "Roter Sand" but little touches of a sinister yesteryear are everywhere, like the fake vaudeville music in "Haifisch" or the soundtrack strings of "Wiener Blut" which are eventually overcome by a guitar crunching juggernaut. This strange mix of styles is more effective here than it has been for about a decade, and there's no threat of the album becoming ponderous either as the economical tracklist and purposeful songs ...

#1 Hits: Best Of 60S Rock Radio songs
$16.09 When SONIC BOOM was released, it had been over a decade since the last Kiss studio album, so expectations were understandably high. In addition, the intervening period had seen the band fire two of its founding members for the second time, only to replace them with sidemen wearing Ace Frehley and Peter Criss's iconic makeup. Luckily, the new additions, unlike some of Kiss's "un-masked years" members, have a good feel for classic Kiss. That fact, matched with Paul Stanley's assumption of production duties, makes ...

| | Mills Brothers Chronological Vol. 4: 1935-37 CD (2001)
#1 Hits: Best Of 60S Rock Radio songs
$22.09 Recorded between 1935 and 1937. Includes liner notes by Geoff Milne.
It is ironic that the Mills Brothers are chiefly remembered for being a middle-of-the-road pop vocal group that sang conservative music in the 1940's and 50's for they started out as an innovative jazz band. Up until the early 1940's the Mills Brothers brilliantly imitated instruments, sounding like a full ensemble even though the only "real" instrument they used was an acoustic guitar. Vol. 4 out of the six very valuable CD's compiled by the English JSP label finds the Brothers dealing with a very traumatic experience, the death of John Mills, Jr. (in early 1936) who ...
