| | David Clayton-Thomas In Concert: A Musical Biography CD - Import David Clayton-Thomas Discography of CDs
The once and future lead singer of Blood, Sweat & Tears was recorded live at Toronto’s Opera House on October 26th and 27th, 2005. It’s a musical biography of sorts, reflecting the history and legacy of an incredibly prolific career. The album is comprised of songs Clayton-Thomas either wrote or performed with Blood Sweat & Tears—from ’60s classics like “Spinning Wheel” and “Go Down Gamblin” to ’70s and ’80s hits like the bebop gem “Gimme That Wine”—as well as songs culled from his first Justin Time album "Aurora" (2005)—the Billie Holiday-penned “Don’t Explain” and David’s own “Wild Women & Po’ Boys”.
The former Blood, Sweat & Tears singer is in fine voice on this live 2005 retrospective of his notable successes with the jazz-rock group and solo. Well-known musical memorabilia, such as his version of Billie Holiday's "God Bless the Child," and the BS&T originals "And When I Die," "Spinning Wheel," and "(You've Made Me) So Very Happy," make this set an entertaining jaunt down memory lane, while a sensitive reading of Holiday's "God Bless the Child" puts the bombast of "Lucretia MacEvil" into perspective.
Personnel: David Clayton-Thomas (vocals); Bernie Labarge (electric guitar); Michael Stuart (flute); Vernon Dorge (alto saxophone); Jason Logue, Bruce Cassidy (trumpet); Gord Myers (trombone); Douglas Gibson (bass trombone); Doug Riley (keyboards); George Koller (acoustic bass); Paul DeLong (drums); Waleed Abdulhamid (percussion); Joel Feeney, Neil Donell (background vocals).

| | Chicago: At Carnegie Hall CDs (1971) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
In Concert: A Musical Biography CD music
$30.49 After issuing three consecutive studio double LPs, Chicago topped themselves with this four-album live box set. As the title suggests, At Carnegie Hall, Vols. 1-4 (Chicago IV) (1971) finds the band at the venerable New York City venue during a five-night stand (April 5-April 10) in the spring of 1971. The septet -- which includes the respective talents of Terry Kath (lead guitar/vocals), Robert Lamm (keyboards/vocals), Peter Cetera (bass/vocals), Danny Seraphine (drums), Lee Loughnane (trumpet/vocals), James Pankow (trombone), and Walter Parazaider (woodwinds/vocals) -- were at their unquestionable peak of initial popularity. Their previous three double LPs continued extended runs on the pop album chart and likewise spawned a number of hit singles. So by the time the group hit the Big Apple for these shows, they were among the hottest things happening. Chicago's set list is wholly representative of the material from Chicago Transit ...
