Drawing songs, in part, from Elvis Presley's late-1960s movies, this 10-track budget-priced collection, originally released in '70, finds the King in full-on crooner mode. The opening title song is a pure easy-listening number, replete with lounge-tailored orchestral accompaniment, while "Clean Up Your Own Backyard" settles into a light funk groove. The concise set also includes the horn-laden "A Little Less Conversation" and the energetic "Rubberneckin'," both of which were subjected to high-profile remix treatments in the early 2000s. Although this disc isn't essential for the casual Elvis fan, it's affordable price and charming tunes make it highly appealing to dedicated followers of the King. This cd has great remastered sound and hasn't left my cd player since I bought it from CD Universe. For the price you can't go wrong with this one. Two thumbs up!

This CD is the clone of the original album, 2nd issue. BMG could add "Stay Away Joe Take 17" as a bonus track, present on the 1st issue (by mistake).

An Elvis RCA International Classic
This album was originally released as a "budget" album in 1970. Almost in Love is by far the best of the budget albums. The cd has been nicely remastered. Great value for money, and a nice selection of tracks. It is a shame that BMG Europe doesn't release such cds.

This is a great CD! However, the track "Stay Away, Joe" (take 17) is NOT on the CD as advertised, instead we get "Stay Away" a completely different song. Still, a great CD!

Part of the post-rock/neo-Kraut/retro-electronic revival of the late '90s, U.K. trio Appliance deftly sidesteps the sometimes overbearing seriousness of those tags with a warm glow to their music, as wonderfully captured on their debut Manual. Perhaps unsurprising given their home at Mute Records, Appliance calls to mind kings of electronic music Kraftwerk, but in the Autobahn/Radioactivity sense of gentle melancholy rather than the frigid propulsion of Trans-Europe Express.
