Rory has always been at his best live. The Montreux sessions were typical of his high energy yet intimate audience performances - from A Million Miles Away, Moonchild, Shadowplay to Amazing Grace.
Rory and Bela Fleck clearly have a great time in the 1994 concert.

The Blues are the best
Rory Gallagher has always been a favorite of mine in my Blues collection. He ranks up there with one of the best Blues musicians such as Muddy Waters.

i believe this DVD contains the full works of rory gallagher, from his early days of electrifying stage presense to his later days after life had taken it's toll. great audio, lots of close-ups that show his technique and easy to navigate. you get your money's worth with this one. 5 stars.

This dude rocks!
I've own some of Rory's stuff on LP and knew he was a great rocker, but this video is great! Good picture, and good sound. Not that Rory is a Jimmy Page or Steve Vai or Eddid Van Halen, but his band just rocks! No disappointments here.

Rory Gallagher - Live At Montreux DVD Legendary Irish guitarist Rory Gallagher played the renowned Montreux Festival on five occasions, spanning his breakthrough years in the mid-'70s right up to the year before his tragic early death at the age of 47 in 1995. Renowned guitarist Gary Moore devoted much of his early career to playing metal-tinged hard rock, first as a member of 1970s bands Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, and Colosseum II, and then as a solo artist throughout the 1980s. But in the 1990s, Moore reembraced the influences of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Peter Green for a return to his first love, the blues. This concert captures the revamped Moore and his backing band The Midnight Blues at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1990, performing tracks from that year's STILL GOT THE BLUES that includes "Walking by Myself," "All Your Love," "Cold Cold Feeling," and many more.
