Buffalo-based emo-pop quartet Cute Is What We Aim For serves up familiar-sounding powerchords, punchy drums, and soaring hook-filled choruses. Also familiar is the band's tongue-in-cheek wordplay and their penchant for whine-centric, emo-styled vocals. Yet the band has a smarter, wryer sensibility than many of their contemporaries, and racked up an impressive online buzz before the release of their debut, 2006's SAME OLD BLOOD RUSH WITH A NEW TOUCH. Produced by Panic! At the Disco producer Matt Squire, SAME OLD delivers 12 clever, poppy slices of emo rock sure to satisfy any tenderhearted, irony-loving fan of the genre.
Buffalo, New York's Cute Is What We Aim For are best known for their countless hooks, pop sensibility and witty lyrics. Amazzzinng !
I love this band, seriously. And to 'Brandon' I went to see them live last night, and they were amazing, and I've been toi a fair few shows myself :) They are genuine too at the meet and greet we went to beforehand and when we waited for them after. This CD is well worth a listen, the lyrics have loads of emotion put into them. I'd recommend them for fans of Panic!

my girlfriend bought me a copy bc shes awsome like that newho... i havnt stopped listening to them since she got me it and its amazing. very interesting lyrics that can make u laugh or at time relate to especially if ur a teen thats grown up w/ all the genres of ppl and the "pop"culture it is a good cd and if she hadnt bought me it i would have anyways

Cute is what we aim for has some catchy songs. They are a lot better than many of the other bands playing similar music. I'd recommend this album for someone who wants lighthearted pop-ish music.
