FSRCD006 AB / NRML: PROPS AND HIGH FIVES (FREESTYLE RECORDS) Formed in 1996, Boogie and Lee Majors (A.K.A. Jason Rivera and Chris Ivery) first hooked up when both had guest appearances on an album by a mutual friend. At the time both were involved in separate projects, but maintained contact through local shows and open mic sessions around their home town of Detroit. When their separate musical ventures dissolved, an opportunity arose for a joint project: and AB/NRML was born. The formula behind the way AB/NRML approaches hip-hop lies within the vast selection of musical influence which they draw inspiration from. Their deliberate choice to utilize a collection of producers who create soundscapes to complement their flows and not necessarily seeking to make the next hot hip-hop smash. Due to this, within the music you will feel aspects of everything from house music, trip-hop, rock, or electro - all married to hip-hop concepts. | | Eminem Relapse CD (2009)
Props & High Fives CD music
$9.49 Lyrical acrobat Slim Shady returns after a five-year absence with his fifth major label release, continuing to strike the perfect balance between brooding insight and absolute silliness on 2009's RELAPSE. Opening single "Crack a Bottle" reunites Detroit's maddest rapper with his superstar mentor (Dr. Dre) and protege (50 Cent) on a fittingly funky tour de force.
Eminem's RELAPSE, a double album released after five years of recorded silence, a record featuring Dr. Dre behind the boards for the first time since 2000, faced no shortage of the relentless pressure of expectations. A narrative of survival after facing down his demons in rehab unfurled with Eminem's usual twisted Swift-ian wit, RELAPSE ...

| | Drake So Far Gone CD (2009)
Props & High Fives songs
$8.69 No doubt about it, Drake blew up big time in 2009. The one-time TV actor (from DEGRASSI HIGH: THE NEXT GENERATION) hooked up with Lil Wayne a couple years previously, worked the mixtape and collabo circuit for a spell and then suddenly hit with the song "Best I Ever Had." The song was taken from the SO FAR GONE mixtape and became the top summer jam of 2009. After a ferocious bidding war, Drake ended up signing with Universal Motown (while keeping his affiliation with Weezy's Young ...

| | Joan Baez David's Album CD (1969)
Props & High Fives album
$15.05 Although 1969's DAVID'S ALBUM is named in honor of Joan Baez's then-husband, jailed draft protester David Harris, it's oddly enough one of her least political albums. Recorded in Nashville--at about the same time as Bob Dylan's NASHVILLE SKYLINE, an album which this strongly resembles--with country music veterans like Pete Drake, Jerry Kennedy and even country-pop songwriter and sometime-actor Jerry Reed, DAVID'S ALBUM is a fairly straightforward country-rock album. A version of the classic Bill Monroe arrangement of the gospel standard "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" is a highlight, as is the first of several versions Baez recorded of Gram Parson's country-rock masterpiece "Hickory Wind." The arrangements sometimes sound a bit slick and dated, but this is probably Baez's most fruitful experiment in this then-fashionable genre.
The 2005 reissue of David's Album is beautifully digitized, with a rich, detailed sound and vivid presence for all of the players, and contains exceptionally detailed annotation as well as two bonus tracks, "How Can I Miss You," featuring Joan and her sister Mimi in another duet, this time of a much more light-hearted nature, and "The ...

The band was formed two years ago to represent in a fresh and ...
