Excellent 25 track compilation by this '60s band fronted by the teenaged Peter 'Don't Call Me Herman' Noone. Born during the first British Invasion of the '60s, Herman's Hermits fared better than most of the other bands that rode that brief wave of success (i.e.: Gerry & The Pacemakers, Freddie & The Dreamers, etc) and are perhaps more respected today than ever before, since their brand of British Bubblegum Pop remains timeless. Features all the great hits including 'I'm Into Something Good', 'There's A Kind Of Hush', 'No Milk Today', 'Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter', 'Wonderful World' and many more. EMI. An overload of Hits!
The biggest mistake is not to order this album(CD) by HH.I must admit since purchasing the cd, I 've already played it four times."Busy Line",I understand, Just one girl and "I'll never dance again are my best liked hermits tunes.Too bad Derek is no longer with us because,he provided the background vocals with Keith Hopwood doing the higher falsettos.Hey Peter thank god for your nice voice /look at what happened----Wow! youve got millions of fans.What are you waiting for fellahs, order this Cd and HURRY! Right from the opening charge of sludge guitars and big-ass drums, it's clear that the Backyard Babies aren't there to mess around -- and they don't. The foursome sounds like they're blowing up the studio as much as recording in it, and while it's clear that Dregen's Hellacopters participation means that the two groups have a related sound, the Babies sound a little more glam/punk and a little less MC5/Stones. There's at least one Ramones shirt on display in the band photos, but there's easy echoes of the Damned and classic sing/shout-along acts like Die Toten Hosen, among many others.
