$13.15 THE BEST OF BONNIE RAITT brings together 18 of the country/blues singer's finest recordings including "Nobody's Girl" and "Nick Of Time."
This import features four tracks that do not appear on the American edition.
THE BEST OF BONNIE RAITT ON CAPITOL 1989-2003 features Raitt's handpicked selections drawn from the era representing her greatest commercial success, kicking off with the three Grammy-winners from her Capitol debut, NICK OF TIME. Always an astute judge of other songwriters, this crimson-haired chanteuse cast a wide net and found chart success and airplay with covers of John Hiatt (the sassy shuffle "Thing Called Love"), Paul Brady (the Fleetwood Mac-like "Not the Only One"), and the little-known Bonnie Hayes (a simmering "Love Letter" and reggae-soaked "Have a Heart"). Other composers given the Raitt touch include Richard Thompson (a gorgeous "Dimming of the Day"), David Gray (the equally heartfelt "Silver Lining"), and Chris Smither (a live and acoustic "Love Me Like a Man").
Throughout, Raitt's amazing dexterity on electric and slide guitar are inescapable, particularly on the sizzling Roy Rogers duet "Gnawin' on It," which makes it all the more puzzling that Rolling Stone deigned to include Raitt on their list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." Most impressive is "Hear Me Lord," on which this itinerant blues icon successfully switches gears into Afro-pop mode and delivers a bubbly and bright reading of Zimbabwean legend Oliver Mtukudzi's "Help Me Lord."
The Best of Bonnie Raitt on Capitol 1989-2003 gathers the biggest and brightest moments of her time at Capitol Records, including definitive hits such as "Thing Called Love," "Nick of T

We Are Who We Eat album
$13.05 Two of music's most outrageous personalities, Bootsy Collins and Buckethead (aided by Bernie Worrell), unite again (post-Praxis) for a crazy funk metal sci-fi conceptual conspiracy theory throwdown. Of course, it doesn't sound anything like any other funk metal out there because Buckethead is not your average metal guy, and Bootsy's no run-of-the-mill funkateer. This really is Bootsy's show, as he does almost all the voices, all the beats, and perhaps the most monstrous space-bass playing ever committed to tape. Did I mention he's also hilarious? Buckethead is a deranged metal virtuoso, tossing out both unbelievable leads and some of the most unearthly tones to emanate from an electric guitar. The two of them obviously have a lot of fun together, and while the actual concept may not be completely decipherable, the element of humor and fun does shine through clearly. However, even though Bootsy's playing is fantastic, some of the pummeling beats and general metal feel isn't likely to appeal to your average funk fan, and the goofiness quotient isn't likely to win over the average dour metal fan. Then there's the last track, which has them doing their take on the Barry White late-night get-down sound. This isn't for everyone, to be sure. But if you're an open-minded listener with a taste for virtuosic high-speed guitar, insane funky bass, sci-fi samples, and silly fun, Lord of the Harvest should be a good time. ~ Sean Westergaard

We Are Who We Eat CD music
$13.89 Rarely does one find a rock band that displays as much authenticity and honest emotion as Old Man Shattered. Old Man Shattered, formed in Albuquerque in 1997, has accomplished more than the average local garage band. OMS's debut album, In Light of Who You Are, independently released, was nominated in four categories at the NMMIA Awards, held annually in New Mexico; Best Religious Song, Best Mainstream Song, Best Album of the Year, and Best Song of the Year. While they only took home one award (Best Religious Song), they were nominated alongside artists who had been in the industry upwards of 20 years. Their debut album also spawned four radio releases including Mr. Prodigal, which went #1, and Surrender, which peaked at #3 on Massive Radio, a nationally broadcast CHR station. As a result, Be Magnified, which Meyers wrote in memory of Columbine High School Shooting victim Cassie Bernall, OMS is listed on a memorial plaque which hangs inside the high school, and the song was played at the one year memorial of the shooting. Quite an accomplishment with a debut, indie release. They have shared the stage with Shinedown, Crossfade, Strata, Skillet, Moth, The Exies, Jessica Simpson, Delirious, Sonic Flood, Fivespeed, Plumb, All Star United, The Waiting, Every Day Sunday, Kids in the Way and The David Crowder band, among others. In July of 2003, OMS exploded onto the national music scene with the release of their sophomore effort, The Other Side of Fear, which combines an ...
