Largely rudderless and in label limbo since the early 1990s, Cheap Trick showed new signs of life on 2003's SPECIAL ONE, an album that found the long-running rock band signed to Big 3 Records. This relationship clearly served the group well, since '06's ROCKFORD, named after Cheap Trick's Illinois hometown, sees the band proudly returning to its power-pop roots. Tracks such as the hard-rocking "Welcome to the World," the Beatlesque "O Claire," and the jubilant "This Time You Got It" are (no kidding) in the same league as the quartet's classic late-'70s work, with frontman Robin Zander in fine voice, guitarist Rick Nielsen churning out huge riffs, and the rhythm section of bassist Tom Petersson and drummer Bun E. Carlos sounding as tight as ever. Those who had written off Cheap Trick as rock has-beens are proven resoundingly wrong with this delightful and wonderfully assured record.

You want classic Cheap Trick , You got it! Great songs , with great hooks like Cheap trick is known for , this is there Best album since 97's "cheap trick" cd , just about every song is stellar , The band really out out a quality cd this time that any longtime fan will enjoy ! any fans of well written Rock/pop should love this , I highly suggest getting this .... Long live the Trick !

Cheap Trick at their absolute best!
I'm a big Cheap Trick fan, and i must say that this has become one of my favourites! It starts of with "Welcome To My World". It reminds me of "Hello There" from "In Color"- a short and very catchy opening track. I think almost every song on this album are killer songs, and my favourites are "This Time You Got It"(one of the best Cheap Trick-songs i've heard!), "Decaf"(a twisted and cool song), "One More"(another twisted and cool song), "Give It Away"(just a great and catchy song). Ok! I love every song on this album! What bothers me is that here in Norway, Cheap Trick are almost forgotten... so i play and force my Cheap Trick-albums on everyone! It amazes me that Cheap Trick can still sound as new and fresh even after 30 years! I think many new bands can learn a lot from Cheap Trick- dare to be just as playful!

Cheap Trick may not have put out a blockbuster album in the past 15 to 20 years but what they have put out are excellent "straight up" rock 'n roll albums . This is another very good RnR album . I think their previous cd , Special One , was a little better than this but it is still a good purchase for any CT fan .

 Lackluster
What is the deal with Cheap Trick. After 30 years of recording and concerts they refuse to put something together that really rocks.
Their first three albums were find for the times, but throughout the 80s and 90s they had ample opportunity to prove they can rock, only to release barely listenable pablum.
