Certainly one of the most chart-savvy of all the bands to emerge from the mid-1990s alt-rock feeding frenzy, Third Eye Blind distinguished itself with the inescapably catchy single "Semi-Charmed Life" from its '97 self-titled album. Led by singer-songwriter Stephen Jenkins, the San Francisco-based group also had minor hits with the angst-ridden "Jumper" and the rowdy "Graduate." All of these tracks appear on this well-selected best-of compilation, which also includes material from the band's underrated later outings, BLUE and OUT OF THE VEIN (see the wistful "Deep Inside of You" and the upbeat "Blinded," respectively). Although Third Eye Blind's straightforward, guitar-pop approach was derided by some modern-rock fans, this set makes a solid case for the group's post-grunge relevance.

They should have included B-sides, soundtracks, and unreleased songs such as 'Horror Show', the excellent 'Tatoo of the Sun', the superb cover of the Clash's 'Train in Vain', 'Gorgeous', American Pie's 'New Girl', A Knight Tale's 'Eye Conqueror' (probably their heaviest song!), and their punk Christmas jingle 'One of those Christmas Days'... At LEAST a few of these need to be on here because they are all well written, powerful songs that are every bit as good as 'Semi Charmed Life'.

4 hit wonder (above)?? Who cares how many singles they've had on the air? Every song on this CD is great, and if you don't think so at first, just look up the lyrics and read along. The only drawback to this CD, IMHO, is that it doesn't include "Faster" - one of my fav. 3EB songs.
Also, "Motorcycle Drive By" is one of the best songs ever.
