The tree shaped like a guitar in the moonlight sets the mood for Adam Mugavero's debut, Breathe. The album kicks with "History," a quiet, psychedelic folk song whose production immediately draws attention to itself. There's plenty of reverb on Mugavero's vocals, and the stripped arrangement of acoustic guitar, strings, and piano fits the slightly left-of-center lyric. "Air," on the other hand, expands toward the baroque, creating a mixture that Bach -- had he lived in Greenwich Village and been influenced by Dylan -- probably would've concocted. Of course Bach, imagining himself as the air, probably would've found something more profound to comment on besides touching a girl's breast. The production expands to full-fledged pop on the choruses of "Already Miss You." Depending on the listener, these songs might be described as intriguing or weird. The brightness of Mugavero's vocals will be too much for some listeners, with the larger-than-life effect wearing thin on a song like "Late ...

The musical group Idlewild performs mainly Celtic music from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, and the Isle of Man. You can hear them play early and traditional music from various cultures mixed into their program, such as English and French music.David and Carol Sharp formed Idlewild more than ten years ago. Dave plays flute, whistle, recorders, mountain dulcimer, tenor banjo, mandolin/mandola, guitar, fiddle bodhran and sings tenor vocals. Dave has played music with many ethnic groups from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. He enjoys researching and playing all kinds of ethnic and traditional tunes. He is also an animator (network television for 16 years), and a woodcarver. Dave is also the Business Agent for the American Federation of Musicians, Local 104.Carol plays mainly the Celtic harp, hammered dulcimer, and bowed psaltery for performances. She specializes in the smaller lap harps and is a certified practitioner of harp therapy by the International Harp Therapy Program. Carol plays and works with children at Primary Children's Medical Center. Carol has received a BS degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah in 2002. Carol specializes in musical activities and therapy with children.Dave and Carol are joined by their five friends Jody Duffy-Brings, Teresa Welch, Aaron Rashaw and Steve Keen.Jody Duffy-Brings sings traditional Irish songs and ballads in a delightful natural style. Her earliest musical influences were sounds of Makem and Clancy, Planxty and Bob Dylan being played by her parents as they drove around the Caribbean island of Trinidad where she lived as a child. She later moved to the Middle East with her parents and this is where she took up the guitar, singing and writing songs. After completing her secondary education Irish went on to the Ballyfermot “rock School” for 2 years where she studied musical performance as well as the practical side of the music industry. 1996 saw her based in Sweden to start what would be a 4 year tour of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and the U.K. She also started work on her debut album “Republic of One” which she recorded in Bohus Studios just outside Gothenburg, Sweden. In 2000 she moved to Australia where she quickly established a large and loyal following. Again festivals and some large support slots would follow. 2003 saw the release of “Appreciate” on Myth Records. It was recorded at Planet Studios in Subiaco Perth Western Australia.
