Dons Ray Hicks, a.k.a Dark Skin, is a representation of his heritage and culture, bringing a conscious mind to the music industry, something that has been lacking. His content and perspective come from a deeper thought process. His new album "Flow Food," brings something new to the table, feeding people so they can survive, providing nutrition for your brain.Dark Skin tells you his tales from a story telling point of view, detailing what is occurring realistically in life, instead of being your typical, "I did this and that," rapper. On the other side of the coin, he is a very humorous individual and lightens the angered moods of people most of the time. Dark Skin's music has a vastly universal feel, in which listeners from many different regions could hear and thoroughly understand it. Rapping since the age of sixteen, the twenty-three year-old (San Francisco born, but Sacramento based) MC has already began establishing himself as a talented artist, appearing on numerous projects, while working on his own. Drawing his earliest rap influences from his brother Chad, Dark Skin decided to start rapping. Now he composes beats and sings as well. In the music industry, Dark Skin wants to make a good living and make his presence known and be heard. This is a person and an artist who has a very clear head on his shoulders, very down to each, and laid back. Get ready, he is set to bring real life to the world in the form of "Flo Food."
