| | Brian Flynn Follow The Arrow CD Brian Flynn Discography of CDs
Album Description: 'Follow The Arrow' is an eclectic mix of genres with its own stamp of distinction. The album starts off with bluesy 'No No Daddy', in which a young daughter leaves her pastoral paradise for a life in the city. Pop ballads 'Believe' and 'When It Rains' alternately address themes of faith and loneliness. The humorous 'Little Things Change' pokes fun at our modern habits. Rock and roll 'Rough' pounds out a salute to Blue Collar Man. 'Lazy Melody' has an upbeat 50s flavor, and 'Take Or Leave It' is matter-of-fact and defiant. 'From This World' evokes a sense of melancholy, while 'Papparazzi' takes a satirical stab at the visual press. The album concludes with the soulful 'Follow The Arrow', and its own unique love song 'I'll Never Be Alone'. Bio: Brian Flynn is a singer/songwriter who performs an eclectic mix of original music ranging in style from pop, blues, rock, gospel, soul and jazz to his own distinctive vibe. Accompanying himself on the keyboard, he is compared to such artists as Billy Joel and Elton John, while certain of his tunes evoke the whimsical rhythms of Jimmy Buffet or the blue-collar grit of Bruce Springsteen. Flynn has been playing the piano 'by ear' since he was thirteen years old, and has cultivated an intuitive feel for the instrument. He has a passion for composing lyrics and a burning desire to perform. 'There's nothing like playing in front of a live audience, whether it's 5 people, 500 or 5,000. There's just no substitute. ' Having graduated from Bates College as a Theatre/English major, Flynn has a wealth of stage experience, and is right at home in front of a crowd. While he is happy to be promoting his first album, Flynn has written many more songs which he intends to release in the future. What's next? More shows! More original records! That's the plan!Review: From the lead-off romp, 'No No Daddy' to the angry 'Papparrazzi, to the more contemplative title track, it has soul. Follow The Arrow music CDs
$12.55 Falling into a style of singer/songwriter music that is wide yet thin when it comes to credibility and durability, Henry Elsesser makes good on almost all of these tracks. The gentle roots rock of "If You Were Here Tonight" could be mistaken for a Ryan Adams demo, but the pedal steel guitar touches add a lot it. The long, deliberately built "You'll Be Gone" is perhaps the prettiest number about parting ways without moving into a standard emotional pop arrangement. A lovely harmony ...

Follow The Arrow album
$16.45 Vaden was born in the hills of North Louisiana, near the Ouachita River. His family was poor in wealth, but rich in love, and had a special bond with country music, that always had a special place in home lives as well as social gathering. Vaden's Dad, along with three brothers and one sister, played and sang the songs that touched their hearts, and could relate to in their lives. Country music seemed to always be a cure for the blues and help make the hardships of life be a little more tolerable. At an early age, Vaden became insured in writing songs. Though he didn't have much to write about, he spent hours writing poems, then trying to find a tune that would fit. It was a long ways from being professional, but to Vaden at the time was music to his ears. Soon, Vaden's life would make a sharp turn, he stepped into the real world, to make it on his own. Being of a restless nature and not much education, he took jobs on cross country pipelines, and later cross country trucking that would take him all over the United States and to Canada. On rainy days on the pipeline and layovers in trucking, you could find him at the nearest place where their country music would make you feel the songs were wrote about you. Vaden fell in love and married a farmer's daughter, one of ten children. She had three boys and one girl by a previous marriage. Then gave birth to a set of twins, a ...
