bi-phonic is a music concept project created by singer/songwriter, Dylan Alexander. However, in true creative fashion, he allowed the moniker to take on a life of it's own. A dichotomy of contrast with a reluctant desire to be one thing.

He assembled a crew of eclectic musicians. NYC's own John Nugent on acoustic guitar. Paris born bassist, Fabrice Calmettes and the Buffalo duo of David Andreana (electric guitars/backing vox) and Timm (two M's) Bielec (Drums). Inspired by their live performance energy, a self-penned rock album would be the first release in 2002. The musical style of his first release is a sandpaper sweet dynamic of hard-hitting melodic pop/rock and emotionally charged vocals. The band exudes a youthful, energetic, and street-wise sensibility. bi-phonic deliver a raw and honest energy in their live performances, embodying the attitude of the downtown NY rock scene. They balance a refreshingly positive attitude with a gritty, play-for-keeps intensity, which is summed up in the title track, 'Rockaholic'. Contrasting attitudes are exhibited in their range from the frenetically affirmative 'It's Free to be Nice' to 'Reluctant', a defiantly charged homage to the entertainment industry. The band's bold interpretation of Captain & Tennille's 70's hit, 'Love Will Keep Us Together' has become a stirring favorite of audiences.

bi-phonic's originality is derived from triumphant vocal harmonies (a la 'Make Me Higher') combined with the acoustic and electric guitars' intertwining blend ('In Spite of Everything'). The rockbed rhythm section drives the band's intuitive stop-start signatures. bi-phonic has been playing live gigs to enthusiastic crowds at Arlene Grocery, CBGB's, CBGB's 313 Gallery, CBGB's Lounge and the Murphguide 's Midtown Music Festival, building a loyal fan base while developing original material. The band recently earned an honorable mention from ModMusic Records in their unsigned band contest.

Big Hoke Top CD  (2005)

Rockaholic songs
CD $9.35
Press ReviewJeff Niesel- Cleveland Free Times MagazineNamed after singer-keyboardist Justin Gorski's solo album, "Big Hoke," this act also includes bassist/producer Dustin J. Elliott and drummer T. Lane. But it sounds like there's a much larger crew bringing these vibrant song to life. That's because Elliott and Gorski play a variety of instruments, from guitars to penny jars and toy xylophones, giving Gorski a variety of arrangements to sing over. He's up to the challenge, singing in a raspier voice for ethereal "Everyday" and sounding like a cross between Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and Tom Waits in the whimsical "People Fly By." If there were a movie that were equal parts Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Garden State and Down by Law, this eclectic offering would be the perfect soundtrack. - Jeff Niesel To this day Justin Gorski can recall the piano movers coming into the house. "I was five years old," he says, "and those piano legs were bigger than I was!" It's been twenty-three years since, and Gorski has played hundreds of shows, toured around the country and released four albums of original material.

From the age of five until he was twelve he took private lessons and then moved on to the Cleveland Institute of Music where he learned classical techniques. On his own he honed his blues, pop, originals, and even traditional Irish music. In 1994 he qualified for the Fleadh Cheoil in Ireland (a traditional Irish music competition). Gorski then went to the University of Dayton where he received a Music Performance Degree. While there he took private jazz lessons for three years and won a battle of the bands competition.

Gorski returned to Cleveland in 2002 and wrote his fist solo album entitled "My Last Date." While recording he met up with Michael Jantz whom he then played with on the Brian Wilson/Paul Simon tour. "One of the best experiences I have ever had. Not only was I able to see how top acts perform and rehearse, but I got a taste of working on the road." ...

Smile
Mae Robertson Smile CD  (2002)

Rockaholic album
CD $18.99
Not so long ago, Mae was the owner of three children's stores in the Northeast. When her friend, Don Jackson, overheard her singing the traditional folk song, "The Water is Wide," as a lullaby to her baby, he convinced her to record a suite of traditional and well-known pop songs as lullabies. In total, three award-winning albums, All Through The Night, The Sun Upon The Lake Is Low and Sweet Dreams of Home, won Mae stunning reviews ("Her vocals are pure, spun gold," raved the Los Angeles Times), and a growing audience. The albums were all named Notable Recordings by The American Library Association, and they all won awards from Parents' Choice, North American Parenting Publications and The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. Growing up in Alabama, Mae was first influenced by the folk collections of her older brothers and sister. Later, she gravitated toward singer-songwriters because, like traditional folk music, the lyrics were very important. "I have always been drawn the poetry and the story and it is always what attracts me first to a song." In 2000, change was in the air. Mae recorded Stone by Stone which was her first ever album targeting a grown up audience. "I enjoyed writing the songs for the project, but most of all I enjoyed picking the songs I would cover. There are so many wonderful songs out there and it was so hard to just pick a few for the album." So, it was no surprise that in 2002, Mae decided to do an album of songs written by other people. "I am just a song collector by nature. I listen to music all the time and I always have a list going of the ones I want to learn. I'm extremely ...
