| | Casper Salcedo Guitar Wizards CD Casper Salcedo Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
The guitar wizards referred to include Hendrix, Zappa, Page, and host of other greats, and Casper has chops to equal any of them. Plus, he plays every instrument on this CD. All feature mature guitar expertise and technique with seamless backing on bass, keyboard and synth drums. There are some guitar screamers, some moody ballads, and some songs in between those extremes, but all reflect a serious dedication to making good music Guitar Wizards Music | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs | | Label | Elbatrawi's Record | | Orig Year | 2005 | | CD Universe Part number | 7126540 | | Catalog number | 39134 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jan 02, 2001 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Recording Time | 47 minutes |

Guitar Wizards album
$9.55 Susan Boyle's grand unveiling on Britain's Got Talent was with a song from Les Miserables - the very song that lends this album its title -- and if she could become an international sensation based on a show tune standard, there's no reason for her to change her approach on her debut, since that's the sound that made her a star. Plus, a large part of Boyle's appeal is that she's a middle-aged woman recalling a bygone era when there were singers that appealed to an adult audience by offering soft, stately versions of pop hits and standards. That time was the late `60s and early `70s, and apart from a rather faithful version of Madonna's "You'll See," I Dreamed a Dream could very well have been released all those years ago, as it mixes up the show tunes, gospel, and Christmas carols with ...
| | Jimmy Buffett Buffet Hotel CD (2009)
Guitar Wizards CD music
$9.74 Since Jimmy Buffett never leaves his comfort zone, it's hard to call 2009's Buffet Hotel a return to roots but, in a way, it is. Discounting the mock rap on "Turn Up the Heat and Chill the Rosé," this album doesn't even have the lingering country and reggae flavors that seasoned 2006's Take the Weather with You, with all of the songs riding a cool, mellow country-rock wave, the kind that has been his stock-in-trade since the `70s. There's a difference between being part of a tradition and being stuck in the past and Buffett is surely in the former, not shying away from the new millennial mess, ...
| | Mark Knopfler Get Lucky CD (2009)
Guitar Wizards music CDs
$15.65 With the release of GET LUCKY, Mark Knopfler has made as many solo studio albums as he made group studio albums with Dire Straits, which itself may be a signal that it's time to stop comparing his two careers and simply accept them as separate entities. Of course, since Knopfler was the lead singer, chief instrumentalist, and songwriter for Dire Straits, there are obvious similarities, even if he has ...
| | Lady Gaga Fame Monster CD (2009)
Guitar Wizards songs
$8.79 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" and the updated ABBA revision "Alejandro," as it is on the rock & roll ballad "Speechless" -- its big guitars lifted from Noel Gallagher -- and the wonderful, perverse march "Teeth." Even the ...

| | Pauls Apartment CD (2002)
Guitar Wizards album
$10.65 Take a microbiologist, construction worker, drummer dude, industrial engineer, and a psychologist and what do you get? Would you believe a butt kicking', groovin', acoustic bluegrass Rock band? Hell yeah! With the release of their first CD, Pauls Apartment debuts what Dan Corcoran describes in the Impact Weekly as the "epitome of the homegrown jam session". Whether you're listening to one of their cover tunes or original songs, you'll soon find yourself movin' and groovin' along with them. And there's even more fun if you catch their act live where the band cuts loose with whirling 10- and 12- minute jams sessions.Donna Lynn Johnson, lead vocalist and guitarist (and food safety gal by day), pulled the group together after playing with them at a local weekly open jam session in Yellow Springs, Ohio. They started out playing local gigs in the summer of 2001, and branched out into playing larger venues such as the pagan festival in Athens this past summer. With the cold winter month's they headed indoors to the warmth of a studio where they laid down tracks for this CD. Since then they have been busy writing numerous originals that come alive when they play out and playing out is what they love best!!! Describing the PartsThe Food Safety Microbiologist-Donna Lynn Johnson, Lead Vocals and guitarist started playing and singing in her native California when she was 12. She claims to have honed her vocal styling while working as a talc miner in Death Valley, ...

| | Ride The Train Vol. 12-Ride The Train CD (2006)
Guitar Wizards album
$14.79 This is the last installment of the Ride The Train Series for 2005. This CD has everything from comical songs to ballads and from sacred songs to the sublime. This installment of Ride The Train is kicked off by a comical song by Texas veteran song writer, Sonny May with Run Elsie Run, a comical song about Elsie the cow, which is sure to bring a smile to your face. May has been a faithful contributor to the Ride The Train Series. From the humor of "Elsie" we are reminded of reality with The Orphan Train, who according to its song writers is based in fact and not fiction. The writers share the following information in regards to their song: "inspired by the many stories of the train, which between 1854 and 1930 carried as many as 350 thousand homeless or rejected children from New York to the farming regions of the mid-west". The ...
