Hello Catatonic album
$12.85 After the initial shock fades, the existence of CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART seems perhaps inevitable. After all, the thing Bob Dylan loves most of all are songs that are handed down from generation to generation, songs that are part of the American fabric, songs so common they never seem to have been written. These are the songs Dylan chooses to sing on CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART, a cheerfully old-fashioned holiday album from its Norman Rockwell-esque cover to its joyous backing vocals. Apart from the breakneck "Must Be Santa," which barrelhouses like a barroom, Dylan doesn't really reinterpret these songs as much as simply play them with his crackerjack road band, dropping in a little flair -- restoring "we'll have to muddle through somehow" to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," singing the opening of "O Come All Ye Faithful" in its original Latin -- but never pushing tunes in unexpected directions. Many would argue having Dylan croon these carols ...
| | Trans-Siberian Orchestra Night Castle CDs (2009)
Hello Catatonic CD music
$11.35 NIGHT CASTLE appears just in time for the big 2009 holiday season but don't be fooled: this isn't a Christmas album, even if it's sonically indistinguishable from Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other seasonal releases, and the fact that it's been dubbed "Capra-esque" certainly brings it within the realm of the season. NIGHT CASTLE brims with all the drama, pomp, and circumstance of Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other records but channeling these traits through a newly created narrative does have the effect ...

| | Green Day 21st Century Breakdown CD (2009)
Hello Catatonic album
$12.99 Still enamored of the concept of the concept album more than four years after AMERICAN IDIOT, Green Day unveiled its rock-opera sequel, 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN, in 2009. Like its predecessor, BREAKDOWN wholeheartedly embraces the iconic punk-pop act's shift to a stadium-filling sound, while also remaining loyal to the San Francisco-based trio's progressive sociopolitical outlook. Even with a president in the White House that outspoken frontman Billie Joe Armstrong supports, he still finds plenty to rail against, with much of BREAKDOWN alluding to the earlier Bush years of the new millennium, particularly the surging, ...

Hello Catatonic music CDs
$13.75 One of the mainstays of the legendary Cosimo Studio session regulars along with Earl Palmer, Allen Toussaint, Lee Allen, Justin Adams, James Booker, Chuck Carbo and others, Alvin "Red" Tyler played and arranged on many a classic record session in the heyday of New Orleans rock & roll. Playing on hit recordings with Fats Domino, Little Richard, Lloyd Price, Smiley Lewis, Shirley and Lee, Joe Turner, Jimmy Clanton, Frankie Ford and Bobby Mitchell, Tyler's resumé is the recorded history of '50s New Orleans music. By 1961, he got to record his own album (Rockin' & Rollin') for Johnny Vincent's Ace imprint, collected here along with six ...
| | Seed Veil CD (2003)
Hello Catatonic songs
$9.59 Seed is a modern rock band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The band has been busy since 2001 playing a variety of venues including concert halls, coffee houses, church services, military bases, stadiums and youth outreach events. Seed released their first, independently produced CD, "The Seeing Kind" in July 2002 and has opened for National and International artists such as Circadian Rhythm, T-Bone, Noel Richards and Justin McRoberts. Their songs have received airplay on KSFM, 100.7 FM, The Bridge in the San Francisco Bay Area and the band has appeared live on the radio numerous times. "The Veil" is Seed's latest CD. This sophomore project represents a turn towards a heavier, groovier sound than Seed's first CD. Weaving catchy, melodic hooks around layers of percussion, bass, guitars and passionate vocals, the project is a musical catharsis for post modern angst. "This record is about seeking truth." says Seed vocalist, Chris McCooey. "The veil is really a picture of the things we allow into our reality that separate us from truth. Popular culture, politics, cares of the world, cultural tradition and religion are all things that ultimately separate us from truth. Our belief as a band is that truth is revealed in the person Jesus Christ, God incarnate. We don't believe this because of religion or culture but, really, in spite of religion and culture. The veil represents ...
| | Unforgiven Filth CD (2004)
Hello Catatonic album
$16.45 Unforgiven were originally founded in the early nineties as a hard hitting rock trio by guitarist Kev Short, drummer Tony Martin and singer/bass player Simon Rumsey. The band pursued their robust interpretation of classic rock 'n' roll mayhem through a series of gigs that culminated in two recording sessions in 1995. After some tough going, during which time they were mucked around by record companies and found venues reluctant to put them on, at the end of 1996 the band members decided to follow other pursuits. With the nu-metal explosion and the punk resurgence through bands such as At the Drive-in at the turn of the century, Unforgiven reformed with bassist Carl Welburn adding to the original line-up leaving Simon free to put all his efforts into developing his unique vocal style. The group are louder, harder and tighter than ever with Welburn's solid pounding bass complementing ...
| | Big Kid All Kidding Aside CD (2005)
Hello Catatonic CD music
$10.15 This Kid is definitely all right. Southern California's Big Kid is back with an eagerly awaited sophomore release. All Kidding Aside is another collection of can't-miss hooks and feel-good riffs that put the pop squarely back into power pop.  Big Kid's 2003 debut, You Must Be Kidding, proved to be a commercial success, placing music on MTV's Laguna Beach DVD. The savvy internet-enabled promotion of the disc served as a prime blueprint for how the world new media machine should work.  All Kidding Aside arrives in 05 to build upon the successes of its predecessor. There's no shame in taking a cue from musical genius, and Big Kid remains as devoted as ever to the core values of master ...
