isenho are a 3 piece guitar & drum band from Melbourne, Australia. They have been playing together since December 2000 and have developed a unique sound and a loyal fan base. The blending of jangly Telecasters and dynamic drumming combine to create a sound that gets anyone who hears it pretty damned excited. Audience members have been known to dribble uncontrollably and experience uncomfortable flatulance while isenho are doing their thing."With Isenho's 10-track Ein Volk finished after only half an hour, you're hard pressed to find another album to put on after. Better to savour the sweet yet edgy guitar sounds and solid rock rhythm section. Better to play it again - or see them live, this band takes hold of the room and doesn't let go until they're well & truly finished with you." - Jenni James : Ausmusic"Look for it because it will present you with pleasureable surprises." - In your eyes zine (Italy) www.iyezine.com"I challenge anyone not to find humour in songs that sing about dutch ovens, daisy chains in panel vans and arse cracks, but isenho are not just about taking the piss. 'Miscommunications' and 'Oooh, I want more' show that Isenho can write some seriously ball-tearing catchy songs worthy of high rotation at any radio station." - Brian O'Brien - www.bonemachine.net Ein Volk Music | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Pop CDs, Power Pop | | Label | Tranquilo | | Orig Year | 2003 | | CD Universe Part number | 7128262 | | Catalog number | 20500 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Mar 16, 2004 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Recording Time | 31 minutes |

Ein Volk album
$14.44 With The Fall, Norah Jones completes the transition away from her smooth cabaret beginnings and toward a mellowly arty, modern singer/songwriter. Jones began this shift on 2007's Not Too Late, an album that gently rejected her tendencies for lulling, tasteful crooning, but The Fall is a stronger, more cohesive work, maintaining an elegantly dreamy state that's faithful to the crooner of Come Away with Me while feeling decidedly less classicist. Some of this could be attributed to Jones' choice of producer, Jacquire King, best-known for his work with Modest Mouse and Kings of Leon, but King hardly pushes Norah in a rock direction; The Fall does bear some mild echoes of Fiona Apple or Aimee Mann in ballad mode, but its arrangements never call attention to themselves, the way that some Jon O'Brien productions do. Instead, the focus is always on Jones' ...
| | John Mayer Battle Studies CD (2009)
Ein Volk CD music
$11.18 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of Journeyman, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan's In Step, creating a coolly clean blend of synths and Strats, one that's as much about texture as it is about song.something perfectly appropriate for a make-out album like this. Sometimes, Mayer dips too heavily toward the texture, but he can't resist a good, tight melody and builds the bulk of Battle Studies upon them: the elegant "Half of My Heart," the softly soulful "Perfectly Lonely." Here, Mayer is effortlessly seductive and somewhat irresistible, ...

| | Leona Lewis Echo CD (2009)
Ein Volk album
$11.18 The goal of Leona Lewis' 2007 debut, Spirit, was to prove that an X Factor winner could be a phenomenon not just in the U.K., but in the rest of the world. The goal of her second album, 2009's Echo, is to prove that success was no fluke, to build upon "Bleeding Love" and turn Lewis into an actual diva. Certainly, Echo in any of its incarnations -- its song listings are tailored for individual markets, with the U.K. getting a cover of Oasis' "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," while the U.S. gets a second song co-written by Justin Timberlake -- uses the chilly, synthesized "Bleeding Love" as its foundation, creating a sheet of sound equal parts Euro-pop and modern American R&B. As opposed to the often-stuffy Spirit, this is proudly modern, and if the sounds emanating from the two sides of the Atlantic might seem to be aesthetically opposed, they're both producer-driven music constructed layer by layer from rhythm to the vocal, where the overall sound matters more than what's being sung. Which isn't to say that Lewis doesn't sing the hell out of the songs on Echo: she has an uncanny gift for hitting impossible notes without seeming as if she's grandstanding. In fact, there's nary an ounce of diva ...
