After nine albums, countless singles and thousands of live shows, Girlschool promoted their 21st anniversary tour in the Spring/Summer of 2001.Hailing from South London and founded by Kim McAuliffe and Enid Williams, Girlschool's brand of punk-tinged metal gained them a one off deal with City records who issued their debut 45, 'Take It All Away'.Signing to Bronze records at the start of the 1980's Girlschool took the support slot on Motorhead's 'Overkill' tour, redefining the perception of women in rock. Two impressively powerful 45's, ''Emergency' and 'Nothing To Lose' led to the band earning top placings in most Rock Press 'Best New Comer' polls whilst their debut LP ''Demolition' hit Number 28 in the UK national charts.
