"It's Elliott Smith without all the self-pity, it's Charles Bukowski without the self-destruction, it's Bob Dylan without the nasal, and Radiohead without the British dry wit." - Broose Tulloch, Stylus Magazine "Unknown Component is already receiving rave reviews in the United States Midwest and it shouldn't take long for his music to make its way through the States, over the Atlantic and find some kind of place in Britain." --Dave Scott, Glasswerk Rewired Reasoning"This is a really fine CD, and not in the "he's a local guy, cut him some slack" sense. If Mr. Lynch keeps at it, maybe 'Unknown Component' will be very well known indeed."--Kent Williams, Little Village Review "'This Worn Out Scene' has to be my favourite, offering something new in terms of guitar output, with a great vocal effect at the end. The final track 'Humankind' somewhat resembles the Beatles with initial staccato chords."--Anjool Maldé, 07/05/03, Blue Comet Music Living Through Technology Music | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs | | Label | Unknown Component | | Orig Year | 2002 | | CD Universe Part number | 7128774 | | Catalog number | 29600 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jun 29, 2004 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Recording Time | 44 minutes |

$12.69 Allison Cipris (pronounced Cy-Press) grew up on stage. She started performing at a young age in musical theater, but knew early on as she sang along to her Pretenders and Joan Jett records, that her rock and roll heart could not be tamed, as indicated by this impressive debut album. After spending a couple of years developing her chops and stage presence as a ...

Living Through Technology album
$15.39 After being cradled as an infant in "a furry blue guitar case," it is not surprising that the leader of the band Zenphonic, singer-songwriter Oceana Gayden, decided to pursue music as a career. Especially since that guitar case belonged to one of the world's influential guitarists and songwriters. As the daughter of Mac Gayden, Oceana was born into an environment steeped in groundbreaking music. Her father is not only a celebrated studio musician who played guitar on legendary recordings by Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Joe Simon and J.J. Cale, among others, but he is also a hit songwriter and producer, best known for penning the perennial pop and R&B hit, "Everlasting Love." As a member of the bands Area Code 615 and Barefoot Jerry in the early '70s, he helped create the blueprint for the emerging Southern rock and country rock subgenres. "I didn't know about Barefoot Jerry, but my earliest childhood memories - I remember there was always a band there," twenty-something Oceana recalls from her home in Knoxville, Tenn. "We had guitars everywhere, we had microphones everywhere and of course, my dad's furry blue guitar case, which was my favorite hiding place when I was still small enough to fit inside. "The biggest room in the house was always the band room," she continues. "So anytime I was bored, I would go in there and play with the microphone. I would dance while the band was practicing. It just gave me such a fun childhood." Growing up, Oceana studied classical violin, but she still heard the call of the rock and soul music that surrounded her as an infant. "The older I got, I kept gravitating back to my dad's music, the music he was doing before I was born and shortly thereafter - you know, Southern rock, Skyboat's Hymn To The Seeker album," she says. "When it came time for me to do music, I knew from the get-go I wanted to work with my dad. I wanted to hear the guitar he played on "Caney Fork River Daze" - you know, just that jammin', all-out Southern rock." Although he had mixed feelings about his daughter pursuing a career in music, Mac eventually agreed to accompany her into the studio. Ironically, the resulting music was not even close to Southern rock, even though it included plenty of his signature guitar work. Instead, working with a number of musicians who would become members of her band including her older brother Mac Gayden Jr., Oceana explored a variety of poprock themes with an ease and sophistication that belies her limited professional experience. The twelve songs that make up Zenphonic's debut album, Cyber Gypsies, reflect the lessons in popular music Oceana soaked up as a child from inside that guitar case. Not only lessons learned ...

$18.95 Editorial Reviews“During my 15 years of reviewing country music acts for ABC Radio, no new artists has impressed me as much as Judy Wright. She could overwhelm you with vocal prowess, but restrains herself masterfully and lets the power come through just when the song needs it. Add the phenomenal voice, fine musicianship (guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano), superb songwriting, and an engaging and polished stage presence, and you’ve got a complete package ready to make a big splash in the music world. (Dan Gordon, ABC Radio Network) “Judy Wright's music has already gained across-the-board appeal in Music City, and like many other local club faves, she is now on the verge of national and international acceptance and is impatient to bring her music to Britain and Europe, where radio play has been quitephenomenal." (Alan Cackett, Country Music International magazine) Devon O'Day of WSIX-FM radio says, "One of the freshest, most interesting voices I've heard in a long time -- kind of like alternative chanteuse. Her voice is like rich velvet with a couple of rips in it." "Her CD has been played over and over again in my office, and it still holds everyone's attention. It is truly an extraordinary album, and Judy Wright's voice is hypnotic, sexy, and captivating all at once.” “She is A-1, star quality material. Her album is a must have.” (Robert El Dorado, California High Desert) "Wright's voice is smoky, sultry, and communicative; her lyrics probing and universal. Good stuff!" (Rusty Russell, Music Row Magazine) "How's this for an ideal evening? A dark corner table, a fresh-gin-and-tonic and Judy Wright singing to you about how the world really works." - (Edward Morris, former Billboard country music editor) "With a repertoire that combines jazz, country, blues and rock, Wright is ready to head out of Nashville into the arms ...
