Maelo grew up in the mountains of Puerto Rico where at a very young age his inclinations for the music was showing. With the Influence of the native music with a mix of contemporary and traditional jazz with a sweet and simple touch of the Caribbean sound, Maelo try to find a place that will bring it all together. He produced and recorded "ALEGORIA". The allegoric way to speak the wonders of God through music. In this production he revives old Hispanic hymns like "Pescador De Hombres" and "Unidos". He also brings other sounds like "Alegoria", Give You Honor and Bajo La Ceiba where the Puerto Rico's "Cuatro" and the sound of Taylor and Tacoma Guitars get married in the landscape of other instruments. Other tracks like "Soy Libre" brings the latin jazz sound to the mix a la Santana flavor. He is now established in South Florida and has visited Honduras, Puerto Rico, Guatemala and all South Florida with conferences and ministry in music. His brother David Reyes and his friends Eddie Casillas and Carlos Castro are the main artists that form the M&R Christian Music "Alegoria team". Maelo always says "No can do without them" Enjoy the music and be blessed!Ismael (Maelo) Reyes Maelo Alegoria Songs | 1. | Alegoria |

| | Tomato Box Any Road CD (2002)
Alegoria CD music
$14.79 Everything on this record is true. That is what it says on the back of Tomato Box's latest oeuvre Any Road. And really, there is no way to prove otherwise. Any Road is a journey for ears that are curious. And if you don't like the weather along the way just wait five minutes and it'll be something different! But you'll probably like it. Who's not intrigued by golf-ball sized hail, or thunder during a snowstorm, or the destructive force of a tornado. You may want to take cover for a minute, while it blows over, but come back out because maybe there'll be a double rainbow, or the aurora borealis, or regime change. You never know. But then you must ask: How does this relate to the music contained on this Tomato Box disc, Any Road? A ha! You may hear for yourself by perusing the sound clips contained on this web page. Better yet, order the cd and you can enjoy exploring it in the comfort of your own favorite listening environment. What could be better? But then you say: Specifics, man, we need specifics! Yes, you do! Tomato Box is a group of jazz players who have exploratory tendencies, from compositional forms to esoteric musical influences: jazz, free jazz, improv, rock, polyrhythmic counterpoint, to the use of extended techniques; it's all in there. And instruments, do we have instruments for you! Saxophone, clarinet, marimba, theremin, electric glockenspiel, bass, drums, occasional electronics, and cart-loads of unique percussion instruments. And it's all true!A review:Tomato Box is a contemporary jazz band that prompts nods to the fluidity of jazz forms past and present, while at the same time ushering in a vital styling of post-jazz -- one that writhes and wriggles itself a striking and dynamic individuality. Working from traditional jazz-oriented instrumentation (marimba, clarinet, sax, bass, and drum), along with ragged percussion and sampler, this Madison, Wisconsin-based band merges the tenets of structure and improvisation handsomely, in such a way that you're either left reeling and dazed or compelled to dance in your seat. Opener "Rockstar" sets a somewhat organized and structured melodic tone, one that ...
| | Richard Malavet Who Can Say What Love Is? CD (2005)
Alegoria music CDs
$18.99 Accomplished New York cabaret jazz vocalist Richard Malavet has been crooning audiences with his silky baritone voice for several years, performing at such noteworthy cabaret venues as Judy's Cabaret, Eighty Eight's, Don't Tell Mama's, Judy's Chelsea, Danny's Skylight Room Cabaret, Mama Rose's and Encore. His self-released debut Who Can Say What Love Is? is a dynamic and eclectic suite of songs by legendary songwriters/composers Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne, Betty Comden, Adolph Green and Leonard Bernstein, Oscar Hammerstein II and Jerome Kern, as well as songs by the inimitable R&B / pop innovator Ray Charles, acclaimed composer/conductor Lalo Schifrin and newcomer Ben Moore. Produced, mixed and engineered by george walker petit, the album reflects Richard's vastly diverse musical heritage and influences. Malavet was born and raised in the heart of East Harlem ("El Barrio"), New York in the 1960's to native Puerto Rican parents. Music was in his blood. It was the pulse and soundtrack of the City that was his home. His father sang in a neighborhood group in the 50's and had aspirations to become a professional singer. His uncle, King Nando (and His Orchestra), recorded several mambo / Latin boogaloo albums in the 1960's scoring a minor hit in 1964 with "Fortuna" (from Shing-A-Ling With King Nando), which was popular in the Spanish market. During his formative years, Richard absorbed the multi-dimensional sound waves of Spanish Harlem's cross-cultural urban oasis gaining inspiration from a diverse array of artists including: Latin masters Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri and Ray Barretto, seminal vocalists Frank Sinatra, ...

| | Nick Langdon Quiet On The Set: A Tribute To The First Hollywood Musicals CD (2001)
Alegoria CD music
$18.99 After putting this CD in the player, it isn't long before visions of those great Hollywood musicals of the 1920s and 1930s created by film musicals' first great choreographic genius, Busby Berkeley, appear. But most of these songs will not bring immediate recognition to most people's minds, even those who attended films during that era. "Sing You Sinners," sung by Lillian Roth in the 1930 picture Honey, is about the only one that has survived and is played today, albeit rarely. While perhaps they didn't survive the sternest test, time, these songs are of more than mere historical interest. They have a savoir faire entertainment value, especially when put in the hands of a true devotee of the film musical, Nick Langdon, who even includes a voo-voo-dee-oo or two, as he assumes that singing style prevalent during those days of flapper fantasy when people sought out musicals as temporary refuge from the troubles of the Depression. Singing in that light voice that was in vogue at that time (e.g., Rudy Vallée, Russ Colombo, and Al Bowlly), he has fun with such joie ...
| | Razia Magical CD (2005)
Alegoria music CDs
$18.99 RAZIA MAGICAL Born in Madagascar, a mini-continent located 250 miles off the southeast coast of Africa, Razia's soothing mellow voice is reminiscent of the island's breeze, soft, sensual, yet poignant and moving. Her debut album, Magical, has been called "NYC world beat meets the sultry soul of Madagascar." All the songs were written by Razia, co-written by resident acoustic guitarist, Jamie Ambler, and produced by Nir Graff, Eitan Graff, and Jamie Ambler. "Most of the songs are about relationships of different nature and how they've influenced my life," explains Razia. Since the age of three, Razia has been performing. Her first audience was her family. "They would lift me on the table so I could dance and sing. I grew up listening to traditional Malagasy music, The Beatles, Bob Marley, and James Brown, and it was my uncle (a guitarist) who introduced me to music." She recalls, "I was 10 years old when he picked up his guitar and said come on Razia, let's make a song. I had no idea how to write a song and he said listen to the guitar, don't think, go with the flow." She's been writing ...
