I have performed in and around the Los Angeles area for 12 years with my own band, Cranium Lounge. I also did tons of sessions and gigs with several other bands and artists. Some of my greatest gigs include several House Of Blues shows with Guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, boy did we had killer jams! Also a fun New Years eve gig (1999) with Al Green. The band Cranium Lounge had a wonderful opportunity to work with the awesome David Devore, 3 of the songs on the cd were done with his magic ears. David is a unbelievable engineer /producer who has worked with some of the greats like; Fleetwood Mac, Grateful Dead, Reo Speedwagon and Foreginer just to name a few. That was such a treat to work with someone of that caliber! The band Cranium Lounge was also voted one of the best LA bands for a few years. We had a great run! While doing my original band I had the pleasure to work with some of the best musicians and songwriters in town, most of which are on the cd. I have compiled this "greatest Hits" cd to really showcase my playing and songwriting, but I have to say I could not have put this together without the help of these fantastic players and writers! These writers blew me away... Rob Costantino, Scott Baldyga, Nick Davis so keep your eyes and ears for these cats. I now live in Denver and am "solo" so to speak, I still get to LA quite a bit and just cut a new song with engineer /producer Ronnie Rivera. The new song "Come To Me" is the first one of my new cd. It should be out by the beginning of the year. Thanks for checking it out and hope you enjoy the cd! $8.39 Mark Moss is a singer / songwriter based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. "I will keep writing and performing my music until I am no longer able. My music is my gift to whoever is willing to listen." Find out where he's playing next at his home page!Mark first got involved in music through family and church.... His upbringing always involved music - his Mom and Sister played piano, and it seemed everybody was always singing, including his Dad warming up for choir in the car on the way to church. The influence was good - sing like you don’t care anyone’s listening! As a result, Mark started singing and performing in choirs when he was about 8. Music just always made sense to him. When he was little, he tried guitar, but quit because "it didn't sound like Kiss." It was a nylon string classical guitar – go figure! He played trumpet for years growing up, but never stopped loving the sound of a loud electric guitar. Then came the 80s... he decided to give guitar another try and hasn't put it down since - perhaps to the chagrin of friends, family and neighbors.Mark's biggest influences in music have been bands he loves and the singers he learned to sing to, such as: Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Stones, Don Dokken, Bruce Dickenson, Sebastian Bach, Mark Slaughter, Roger Daltry... the list could go on and on.Mark joined his first band at the tender age of 16. As soon as he could drive, he was playing local gigs in a band called "Pressure Point." They were all 16 or 17 and "jamming was such ...

$16.45 Hello CD Baby Friends,Thank you for checking out my website, and I hope you all enjoy what you see and hear. Since this is the bio section, here is some info on me:I am a New York based Trombonist. I live in Brooklyn, New York. I play Valve Trombone, and Slide Trombone.I was raised in Huntington, New York, born in 1960. Early on, I was exposed to jazz music, because my dad is a jazz drummer, born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. who idolized Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Phil Woods, Stan Getz, Bob Brookmeyer, and many others, not to mention all the great drummers of the day. So before I was even born and throughout my early childhood, I was listening to these musicians as well as J.J. Johnson, Oscar Peterson, Horace Silver, Keith Jarret, Blue Mitchell, and Buddy Rich and his big band. These and many others continue to shape my musical development to this day, since I am a primarily self taught musician. I started on drums, like my dad, and I went to a lot of his jobs, so I heard live music early on. I also played Trumpet and Baritone Horn. In the late 70s, My family moved to L.A. I stayed for 15 years, and went to junior college there, and soon after I met up with, recorded, and/or and played with Jay Anderson, John Patitucci, Charlie Haden, Scott Colley, Andy Simpkins, Frank Strazzeri, Billy Childs, Diana Krall, Terry Trotter, Terry Gibbs, Bob Cooper, Don Menza, Jack Sheldon, Al Hirt, Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, Shorty Rogers, Conte Condoli, Chet Baker, Freddie Hubbard, Louis Bellson, Albert Tootie Heath, Billy Higgins, Dick Berk, Peter Erskine, Peter Donald, Nick Ceroli, David Hocker, Bill Watrous, Bill Reichanbach Larry Koonse, Frank Gambale, and other great musicians who lived there. In 1987, I received an award in honor of the late drummer, Shelly Manne, called the New Talent Award, given by the L.A. Jazz Society. Others who received the award are Cecelia Coleman, Eric Reed, Scott Colley, Gerald Clayton, and Larry ...
