| | Steve Harris Northwestern Sky CD Steve Harris Discography of CDs
The original songs of Steve Harris are contagious. Heartfelt songs with memorable melodies you'll be singing in your head for days. Steve's fluid acoustic guitar style has been influenced and blended by years of playing professionally in folk, bluegrass and Celtic bands in a variety of venues. Steve became permanently disabled in late 2001, but music continues to be a positive healing and creative force in his life. For this CD, Steve collaborated with Mark Dodge to bring his solo acoustic songs into full bloom. Mark plays guitar, bass, drums, organ, and tenor ukulele on this record, and contributed arrangements and musical themes, ranging from the delicate acoustic tones of "Tom" to the dense layers of the title track, "Northwestern Sky." Several songs on the record also feature the saxophone virtuosity of Big Quack Records' artist Tim Miller, as well as the pure sweet harmony vocals of the South End String Band's Wende Hilyard. The result is an eclectic record that touches on the fringes of folk, jazz, and rock; great songs you'll be singing in your head for days. Northwestern Sky music CDs
$11.39 A great dark story telling voice ,strong lyrics with a very rootys and diverse souns.Just amazing.I real masterpiece.[Born Again] One of the greatest discoveries of the year Ray Pieters-Belguim RadioBorn Again just blew me away.It is one of the finest CDs I have ever heard.I truly love it.The song writing has a depth of a life fully lived and realiized, and a wicked delicious sence of humor.Carol Oquinn's vocals harmonies are wonderful.Emmylouesque yes but better suited to Frank's songs. And the music is so delicate in places against the harsh realism of some of the lyrics. Kevin Sullivan-FM DublinBorn Again in my ears is a stirring soul blarring masterpiece in every respect.I have slected it as my album of the month. Eddie Russell-FAR ListBorn Again has serious power!!! Mike Kelsey-WFHB Radio,Bloominton IndianaCarlier's music is the kind that plants its heels into the earth and digs,The kind that takes a troubled story and twines it around a handful of eager carefully honed instruments like a flowering vine twisted among barbed wire. His voice is sandy and his picking is hypnotic, and the music it all makes together is something rooted in the dirt and in the muscle.Music carefully put together and deeply exhaled.Music with stories and a craft behind it. Marc Schultz-Charleston City PaperA real musical personality. Michel Penard-ISA Radio FranceI think the whole CD is brilliant!!!!!! Trevor Hyland DJ EuropeA very fine talent. Not only as a multi-instrumentalist but also as a singer song-writer in great American tradition of contemporary folk [but with good country and blues connections too] Massimo Ferro-Radio ItalyDeeply emotional songs....If you like Harry Chapin and Tom Waits you will love this!!!!! Lord Litter Dittmar-CD ReviewLove the CD!!!!!!! Darryl Few-Birch Radio RochdaleThere are times when a band hits their stride and delivers a set that is beyond anything that you expect and believe me those sets are extremely rare. But the Frank Carlier Band did it over and over again. Spoleto Festival ReviewSreaming Jay Hawkins says that most people write songs about love, heartbreak loneiness and being broke.Frank Carlier's songs about a sexy bartender, an old girl friend in a photo, and his divorce [where he jokes,"Its great being a musician getting a divorce-They don't get much!"] his lyrics are no exception ...

Northwestern Sky songs
$13.69 Adam's RevengeThe History of...Adam's Revenge was formed in the winter of 1997 by CAB, a seasoned rock drummer who still had his days in the 80's Los Angeles club scene echoing in his mind. Hopeful to recapture some of that same magic, CAB performed with several local Detroit-area bands all of which failed to live up to the expectations set by his L.A. days. CAB: "Metal has been my main domain of music for over three decades. Fads will come and go, but Ozzy and Metallica can consistently sell out arenas around the world-why? Because they write melodic metal."In March of 1997, CAB discovered guitarist Keith Ferrilla and bassist Eric Vancil and began writing and rehearsing in earnest for the chance to play live gigs. CAB: "I wanted to be up front in the ad I used to get a band. After parting ways with countless bands, I realized I needed to find people who share my musical ideas which are reflected in the ad. I was very direct about the musical direction, the live show and the image that I wanted by then even if it was contrary to the majority. I didn't care what other musicians thought, I never have and never will. I knew I wasn't going to be happy until I was ripping out gut-wrenching, yet melodic, hard rock tunes of my own with a mind-blowing show."Eric: "I remember when CAB and I met in late '96 that I had met him previously. The first time was in early '91 when future Adam's Revenge guitarist Jay Gutholm and I were looking for a drummer, and then again in early '96 when CAB was looking for a bassist for a band he was in. I knew that I finally found someone who approached music with the same scrutiny and enthusiasm that I did."Soon, it became apparent that having a two-song cassette sampler to give to club owners and to pass out to the public-at-large would be the best way to "spread the disease." Recording of this cassette began in May of 1997, during which a second guitarist was added to the lineup.Eric: "Of course now we needed a singer. This began an unprecedented search as I've never been as picky with other bands as I came to be with this one. I wasn't going to be satisfied with anything less than what I and the rest of the band felt to be the best."CAB: "At least 80 singers came over to try out and I could see the rest of the band was getting impatient. I eventually called a friend of mine from my L.A. days, Bob Reynolds. This guy was and still is the best metal vocalist I've ever heard. I asked him if he would sing on our two-song cassette and he agreed, for a nominal fee."Eric: "Adding Bob Reynolds' voice to the cassette, to me, made the project complete. The only problem is it did NOT help in our search for a frontman. CAB, the two guitarists, and I were now even MORE selective about who we wanted. Both guitarists quit soon after the recording of this cassette, simply entitled, "The Appetizer," to pursue other interests. The search for a guitarist as well as a vocalist would not be easy. Numerous guitarists came and went, but Eric recommended Jason Gutholm, a guitarist with whom he had worked from the years of 1989-1995. After a couple of false starts Jason finally found his niche in the band and writing soon began on what would become their self-titled debut album. While this was happening, the ...
