The name "Reism" is taken from Reification, which means " regarding something abstract as a material thing." The music of Reism is a fusion of gothic industrial electronic rock. The combination of heavy guitar riffs, live electronic drums, dirty synths, and soaring vocals make for an interesting and complex musical experience.Reism's debut album "Lifestyle Product" contains 11 tracks with songs ranging from the hauntingly gothic "I Will Fall" to the hard rocking "Something Useful." Lifestyle Product defines and delivers what electronic rock is all about.Formed whilst at music school in Liverpool, England, Reism is comprised of 3 main members:Joe Cochrane originates from Ventura, California and contributes drums, programming and commerical-minded production.Tom Poole-Kerr comes from Somerset, England and brings guitars, programming and non-comformist producing to the process.Finally, Kirsten Jorgensen, from Skuneshavn, Norway, adds her haunting and powerful voice. Silvana Magda was born in Salvador Bahia, Brazil. In 1984 she arrived in the United States a seasoned artist who had already reached her goal as a professional dancer/choreographer. But still brought visions of showcasing her talents in America. Silvana’s adolescent years were spent mainly in Candomble Religious homes and attending “Teatro Castro Alves” school for ballet.With this knowledge of culture and ballet, she launched her dance career in 1975, performing with the “Loni Duro Bahia Dance Company”. She toured with “Viva Bahia Dance Company” and “Orquestra Afro Brasileira” as a featured soloist throughout Europe, Canada, South America, Central America, Caribbean and the Orient.Since her arrival in the United States, she has taught at Hunter College, Rutgers University, Leake and Watts Foster Care and Arts Connection (on going public, Junior High and High School program in the boroughs of New York). In 1988 she created the “Viva Brazil Dance Company”. She conducted a two-week residency of Afro Brazilian Dance at “The Omega Institute” in 1996.Elected as coordinator for the dance department, Silvana coordinated andorganized a cultural committee for artists in New York. Scribe began in 1999, when brothers Josh and Joe Schlessman were jamming in the green room of their Parkersburg, West Virginia home. With only a guitar and a set of drums, the two created their own style of music that is hardcore with rap-like lyrics and some say a twist of punk. Within the first two years, Scribe recorded "Without God We're Nothing," which was released to and played on radio stations in Ohio and West Virginia. In January of 2001, Jon Barnhart joined Josh, the song writer, lead guitarist, and lead vocalist, and Joe, the drummer and background vocalist, as the bass guitarist and third member of Scribe. Just six months later, J Hess joined Scribe, replacing Josh as the lead guitarist, and giving Josh the freedom to move around and get into the music more. In the short life of the band, Scribe has performed more than 30 shows including a tour of West Virginia in Dec. 2001 and Jan. 2002. Since the recording of their first single, Scribe recorded a demo and just released a ten track CD in July titled Scrapbook of Contemplation. The band has released additional songs to radio stations and placed several on mp3.com, all of which reached at least the top 40 on the rapcore chart.Every member of Scribe is very dedicated to the band, but apart from Scribe, they each live very different lives. Josh is 19 and a sophomore at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. He writes the lyrics and music for Scribe with help from the band, but his passion for music extends beyond Scribe.
