"...a wonderfully rich sounding album... a thoughtful and evocative recording and something that those of you who like good film music will really enjoy."-- Jeff Johnson, Raven & DoveReleased in 1993, Farewell to Shadowlands is music in the in the style and range of such artists as Pat Metheny Group and Mark Isham. The music is inspired by verses in the Bible regarding the renewal of all things as well as the highly acclaimed allegorical work "The Chronicles of Narnia" by theologian and philosopher C.S. Lewis.Featured on this album are guest appearances by guitarist Randy Bernsen, former Weather Report percussionist Robert Thomas, Jr., Blue Man Group drummer Jeff Quay, and two time Grammy Award winner pop/latin vocalist Jon Secada.Ray relates that the music on this project is more cinematic and atmospheric than his subsequent release, "Figures of the True", though not without the same contemporary jazz underpinnings. It also contains several improvised orchestral pieces. Most of the music was written during the period of 1988-1990 and recorded and mixed, for the most part, at Criteria Studios in Miami, FL.Produced by: Ray LyonRecorded by: Michael GrossoMixed by: Michael Grosso and Ray LyonFeaturing: Randy Bernsen (gtr), Ed Maina (sax), Jeff Quay (dr), Robert Thomas, Jr. (perc), and Jon Secada (vox) Farewell To Shadowlands Music Ray Lyon Farewell To Shadowlands Songs | 1. | Forever Running |

Farewell To Shadowlands music CDs
$14.69 One of the last projects completed before his death in 1998, Blues for Falasha was composed by Glenn Spearman specifically for the Tzadik label's Radical Jewish Culture series. The "falasha" in the title refers to the group of Jews in Ethiopia who claim to have descended from Solomon and Sheba and who practice a kind of pre-rabbinical Judaism. Because of their religion, the Falashas have had to live on the fringes of Ethiopian society and have been frequently persecuted. When the Ethiopian famine broke out, many Falashas tried to emigrate to Israel, but because of their racial background and economic status, the Israelis were reluctant to accept them as real Jews -- many Falashas were allowed to emigrate, but the process became increasingly difficult to the point where they became one of the only Jewish peoples to be denied immigration under the ...

Farewell To Shadowlands album
$13.29 Clearly a forerunner in ambient & chillout music ranks, Guido Negraszus and his music are highly recommended if you like Enigma, Mike Oldfield Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre. Here is one who does not reduce EM to the hypnotic “Four-to-the-Floor” monotony, but admits melodies, harmonies, suspenseful crescendos and warmth into the genre. Above all, his ingenious shaping of rhythmical elements reflects his adept and informed handling of his instrumentation without negating the up-to-date trends of today. Born in Germany, Guido taught himself to play the keyboard at the age of 15. While most of his contemporaries loved performing live, Guido graduated as a Sound Engineer and Tonmeister at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in Sydney to hone his studio skills in his pursuit of the perfect sound.Since his debut album, Blue Garden, in 1990, he has captivated listeners with inspiring and uplifting melodies on a backdrop of laidback rhythms a la the ever popular Chill Out and Café-del-Mar music scene. Guido describes his music as an alluring instrumental journey for open minds. About MIRAGE:The track THE BLUE PLANET (Mirage) was voted BEST TITLE OF THE YEAR 2003 in the famous program SCHWINGUNGEN (Waves / Germany). In 2004 the track WESTCOAST HEIGHTS (Mirage) was chosen by Screen Sound Australia (a government body) to archive and preserve this track as a contribution to Australia's contemporary music culture.Peter C.(UK) from BeSonic wrote in 2004 about the CD: "If you thought that electronic music was all bleeps and squeals then this will no doubt awaken you to the beauty of the wonderful ambient tones and textures that can be created on the synthesiser."My 2006 music catalogue:1998 MEMORIES & DREAMS VOL.I1998 MEMORIES & DREAMS VOL.II2001 RAMBLE2004 MIRAGE2004 SAILING AWAY2005 PEACE & TRANQUILLITY VOL.I2005 ACROSS THE SOUTHERN SKIES2006 MEMORIES & DREAMS 32008 SECRET WORLDSWhat listeners say:"As a fan of your music for many years I would like to let you know that I just received your CD MIRAGE. The long waiting time after RAMBLE was worth it: you just exceeded my expectation again and I hope you will still release many more CD's!" Michael H. - GERMANY "My sister Susanne and I would like to thank you for your great music. Any of your CD's are always worth listening to more than twice and they are also a great gift idea. Not just because we like your music style, but you also express heart and emotion in your music. With your music we can close our eyes and have a "movie" running in our mind. Every note, every sound in your music whether it is played by a real instrument or a synthesizer becomes alive." Stefan ...

Farewell To Shadowlands CD music
$13.69 It began as a simple experiment.Jeffrey Adams, ultra-low budget filmmaker and writer of radio horror stories, wondered if old time radio could be updated for a new audience, and new technologies. Of the billions of bits of arts and entertainment on the web, very little of it was really accessible to people with dial-up modems. Adams imagined stories told like radio plays, tales made of sound and voice easily compressed to a reasonable ...
