$10.15 DJ D-Tour I Damon Dupree Blacknall was born July 10, 1973 to William and Johnnie Mae Blacknall. I was raised in Beacon New York a small town about one hour and a half north of New York City. I started my interest in DJING in 1986 when my mother brought me my first pair of turntables after noticing my interest in music and beats. I knew then my musical career would become a long tour of events and experiences. It is because of my journey that I changed my name from DJ Dee to DJ D-Tour. I have had many musical influences that have inspired me such as, Marley Marl,James Brown,Run Dmc,De la soul and Phil Collins to name a few. One of my first DJING jobs was at Community Center in Beacon New York in 1988. After DJING there for close to two years I continued on at school dances, weddings, and special events. When I started to get more recognition I was hired to DJ in a store call" Jean Country" in the Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall. The response from the store went so well that I was invited to DJ at one of Jean Counrties sister stores in the Danbury Mall in Connecticut, another store in the Poughkeepsie Galleria called "G.Q Fashions" hired me as well. The hype and creativity of my work caught on quick! At this time I was already making mixed tapes. One summer I packed up my tapes and went to visit my cousin in Columbia South Carolina where I stayed for about three months DJING at clubs and promoting my latest CD. For many years I would DJ at clubs while selling plenty of mixed tapes. When the year 2000 came around I was ready for the next goal, a DJ's dream, my own record. Throughout my whole career I've always produced beats. I formulated my first single featuring my sister "Netta", the song was called "YOU". I rapped the lyrics and produced the beat. I was very skeptical when I released my first record in 2001( I had hoped I chose the right song). I now know that it was the right song because GOD has put me on this path where many of my childhood dreams are becoming a reality. One example is when I went to pick up my records(wax) from "Disc Makers" I stopped at a store and BOOM! who did I run into, Craig Mack. To me it was a sign of good things to come. I forward my single to WSPK K104. 7 radio station and they were so taken by it that they had me perform at there yearly K-FEST 7 with performers such as The Baha Men, Stevie B ,& Mya. The show was a success in every aspect. Two months later I took my music including mix tapes and my single to another country,(Bermuda). There I sold my records to a store called DUBB CITY and sold my mix tapes in the streets. The first day I was in Bermuda I got the chance to hangout with Redman & Methodman who were over there to perform at some point a few days later. While in ...
